A pediatric dentist, like Dr. McCoy, Dr. Lawson, and Dr. Johnston are practitioners who, after becoming a general dentist (often called a family dentist), has completed at least an additional two years of post-doctoral training in the recognition and treatment of childrens dental services. Specialty education includes child psychology, behavior guidance, preventive techniques, pediatric sedation, hospital dentistry, restorative dentistry, and the treatment of children with special needs. Our doctors have gone beyond the requirements of a Pediatric Dental Specialist, becoming credentialed by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and all have hospital privileges at Maine Medical Center for advanced treatment needs.
She continued at the University at Buffalo for dental school where she graduated in the top of her class and was elected to membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society. Following her graduation from dental school, she continued her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at The Ohio State University/Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, OH. She earned her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a Masters degree in Dentistry from The Ohio State University.
She joined Just For Kids in 2014. Shes served on Maine Medical Centers Hemophilia team as well as being engaged at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine teaching pediatric dentistry to dental students.In her free time, she enjoys cycling, hiking, and skiing.
