Born and raised in California, Dr. Julia McGary is the daughter of a dentist and proudly carries on the family tradition of improving patients lives, one smile at a time. She is careful to note that although she grew up in California, she considers herself a Washingtonian that was simply born in the wrong state. She loves the rain!
Early in her career, Dr. McGary practiced as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the Snohomish County area for several years before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of the Pacific (now called the Arthur A. Dugoni Dental School) in California. She graduated with honors in 2002 and returned to Snohomish County to begin her dental practice.
Dr. McGary is committed to continuing education and has received advanced training through the Spear Institute. She also currently serves as a visiting faculty member at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. McGary maintains membership in the American Dental Association (as well as its state and local components), the Academy of Women Dentists, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a member of a local Spear study club.

I'm in the camp, like so many others, of dreading going to the dentist. I'll be completely honest, it's my fault I dread going to the dentist. I don't brush as often as I should and I definitely don't floss, who has time for that anyway, lol. I finally found a dentist who understands that. Yes, this dentist and the staff there care that you're taking care of your teeth and will help you in your journey to make sure you have healthy teeth and gums. They encourage you rather than giving you the same old lecture, they give you alternatives that might work. Just a way to illustrate how they care, this was the first time I was offered to have my gums numbed for the cleaning and other than a little soreness afterwords it was pain-free. I highly recommend this office for your dental needs.

What a fun and friendly office. I am doing my Invisalign with Dr McGary and it's going great. The staff is so knowledgeable! Love this office.

Beware of this place its horrible... got filling done and two days later was in extreme pain told it was "normal" went back in and was told my filling wasn't filed correctly so that was causing the pain. Well they were wrong was in horrible pain still so about 2 weeks of this horrible pain i went to another dentist.. well i was informed i had an abscessed tooth tge dentist and specialist told me they (dentist whi did it) should have notice and when i went back in they should have done xray and tgat it was due to the filling the dentist did. So because of their negligence i lost my tooth and the infection spread to my other tooth so have to have root canal done to save it.

The dr misdiagnosed me, she said I had a sinus infection and to go home and take advil sinus and cold tabs, so I did, and have been since August, yesterday I went to a dentist and guess what? I do have a abscess tooth like I thought, and it's been this way since August! Also they were not wearing masks properly as well when I went. That should of been my 1st sign to leave. I will never will go there again.

I would be very leary of going here. I had work done on my front tooth and I've had nothing but problems with it. It started chipping within one week of it being fixed and now chips everytime I floss. Not happy at all with it. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I had my first visit at cedar family dentistry yesterday and it was so amazing! They were all so kind, and made me feel so welcome. Sheryl took amazing care of me and told me what she was doing and how, I always knew what was going on and I felt so relaxed. She even explained the new technology they use and it was super incredible, it was a learning experience too lol. This environment felt like a luxury dentistry, it was very high tech for sure. And the doctor was amazing, he explained everything and showed me so I could actually see what he was talking about. We came up with a treatment plan that left me feeling so happy an excited. I would, and am going to, refer them to everyone I know. Definitely 10 of 10. 5 stars!

I'm a new patient at Cedar Family Dentistry the staff and Dr. McGary were amazing. I felt so comfortable getting back into a Dental office to get my teeth cleaned. Everyone was so nice and professional highly recommended

I went in for my regular teeth cleaning and Rebecca was the one assigned to me. She was very pleasant and was great at explaining dental care to me. I appreciated her care,attention to detail and her cheery disposition very much.

I have been going to Cedar Family Dentistry for several years now and I've only been seen by Lara twice and I was really impressed on how thorough she was. She is by far, the best Hygienist I've had ever. I can tell she really cares about the health of my teeth. I highly recommend her. And of course, there's Dr Julia, who's always fun and professional to talk to.
