Dr. Judith Shea has loved practicing dentistry since 1997, after earning her Bachelors degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado in beautiful Denver, CO. While she was initially drawn to offering general and family dentistry to patients of all ages, Dr. Shea discovered a particular passion for working with children after she spent four and a half years providing dental care at the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in Belcourt, North Dakota as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Services.
Once she completed her service in Belcourt, Dr. Shea moved to Rochester to pursue her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the world-renowned programs at Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Shea and her husband, also a dentist, fell in love with Rochester and decided to establish their lives and practices here. Dr. Shea, who is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of both the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), has been practicing pediatric dentistry in Rochester and loving her community since 2006. Guided by her years of experience and refined dental knowledge, Dr. Shea takes pride in offering a realistic approach to dentistry while focusing on meeting the needs of her patients with compassionate, personal, and high-quality dentistry.
When shes not providing care to her patients in the office, Dr. Shea loves spending time outside, in the community, and traveling to visit her family in different parts of the country. You can often find her enjoying the weather and scenery at a local park with her dogs, or actively participating in her churchs activities. Whether youre seeking expert care for your childs first dental visit or orthodontic treatment for your child or teen, Dr. Shea and her entire team look forward to welcoming you into our dental family.
A lifelong resident of Gates, Sue started her dental career at her fathers practice over 30 years ago and has been a member of Dr. Sheas team since 2010, where her expertise with insurance ensures personal, consistent, and quality dental care. In her free time, Sue enjoys working outside, traveling anywhere warm, and spending time with her husband Joe, three adult children, and two grandchildren.
A registered dental assistant since 1999 and a graduate of the University of Buffalos Dental Assistant Licensure program, Carrie has been a proud member of our practice since 2011. Carrie previously worked in general dentistry, though found her true passion and niche in pediatric dentistry, and loves supporting patients and families through the treatment planning process. Outside the office, you can find Carrie and her husband, Todd, cheering on their two daughters at the soccer field and on the golf course.
Sherry started her dental career as a dental assistant in the Navy before earning her Associates degree in dental hygiene from Monroe Community College and joining Dr. Sheas team in 2016. To keep providing the best in contemporary and compassionate dentistry, Sherry enjoys keeping up with continuing education classes and has also been certified in anesthesia and analgesia. In her free time, Sherry enjoys spending time with her grandson and traveling to the Dominican Republic to provide dental care to children.
A member of Dr. Sheas team since 2017 and a graduate of Monroe Community College, Lisa brings over 20 years experience in the dental field. Lisa has three grown children and one granddaughter she adores. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys going to the gym, playing with her two cats, traveling to tropical places with her husband, and spending quality time with her family.
A member of Dr. Sheas team since 2016, Courtney enjoys sharing her love for animals with patients, helping children overcome dental anxiety, and creating consistently positive dental experiences. When shes not in the office, Courtney loves crafting, watching the Buffalo Bills, and spending time with family, friends, and her German Shepherd, Judge.
A dental assistant at our office since 2013 and graduate of Monroe Community College, Connor is planning to attend the University of Buffalo to further his career in dentistry. Along with always wearing a smile, Connor loves helping out in any area of the office and the knowledge it brings him about how to successfully run a caring and quality dental practice. Outside of work and study, Connor enjoys working out and getting outside for boating, fishing, and hiking.
With four years experience as a dental assistant in general dentistry, orthodontics, and oral surgery, Kasey joined Dr. Sheas team in 2020 and found her true passion for working in pediatric dentistry. Outside the office, Kasey enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her two sons.
With a passion for working with children, Jen joined Dr. Sheas team in 2018, bringing her combined experience of working at a daycare and as a dental assistant. With a genuine passion for putting a (healthy) smile on everyones face, Jen loves telling corny jokes as much as the cheesy dad jokes shared by her teammates and patients.

Took my 9yr old for a filling. The receptionist at the front desk is extremely nasty ! Very sarcastic. I heard my 9yr old Screamiiiing through 3 doors (as i was in waiting room & not allowed back during procedure). During procedure a staff member came to front desk & asked me could they do work on the tooth next to the one they where working on, i told him i would like to speak wit my child before they proceed,(i wanted to make sure he was ok, ask him what was making him scream) because the way i could hear him screaming made me nervous. Needless to say they never let me speak wit my child prior to continuing work on next tooth & the receptionist at the front desk started whispering smart remarks about me. I feel they are a bit racist as well. I notice colored people have to wait longer to be called back even if you ARE on time. Would NOT RECOMMEND to a Bum or Stray animal !!!

My daughter that is almost 3 has been terrified of her dental visits. Each time, Dr Shea and her team have been so gentle and reassuring! Today she was so excited for her visit and left proud of her clean teeth. I recommend Dr Shea to everyone!

Dr. Shea and hygienist staff are great with kids! They definitely know how to communicate with kids so they are comfortable and understand everything that is happening at their visit! My daughter loves coming to get a cleaning which is not your typical response from a young child, but all visits have been great experiences for us! Definitely recommend to anyone searching for a good pediatric dentist.

I brought my (almost two year old) daughter in for her first dental appointment. Dr. Shea and her team were absolutely wonderful! They gave me clear and helpful information about caring for my daughters teeth and made her first experience very positive! They were careful and gentle while keeping her happy. I went here as a kid and now I bring my daughter! The care is great and the staff is always wonderful. I've decided to write my review today due to the exam experience that happened. My daughter was starting to get antsy and uncomfortable and her hygienist took such great care of her! She literally sang Disney songs just to help take her mind off of what was going on. Never have I seen such care and compassion at a dentist office! Such a great experience. Highly recommend them!

I am so happy I choose this dentist for my baby girl!! Our first visit was very welcoming,staff members were very respectful and polite. The environment is kid friendly,very clean and neat. The services were really fast,booking an appointment was a piece of cake as well,we had no problems nor issues(no waiting list). The staff members also explains thoroughly what they will be doing for the appointment. I'd recommend this dentist office to anyone, and especially with little ones!!

Awesome and welcoming staff. My child needed a filling and they had her in and out in 20 minutes even with her panicking. Will remain a patient of Dr shea due to their attention to their patients and willingness to give extra care and love when needed.

My 4 year old daughter went to get a cavity filled, they would not let me stay back with my 4 YEAR OLD! I went out to the waiting area and could hear my little girl screaming like I've never heard before they refused to let me back and spoke to me extremely condescending. They tried telling me she was just scared (well then I should have been back there too calm her) I told them I did not like this at all they still would not let me back. When my daughter came out she told me they were holding her down and she was in pain! The dr. Never came out to spthateak to me after. We left with my traumatized child

Office is beautiful and well maintained. Dr. Shea and her Staff are exceptional. Put my 5 year old at ease about the dental work he needed done and they took very good care of him. Highly recommend!!!!

It was my kids first time going to the dentist. They are 3 and 1. The staff were amazing with them. They went over what they were going to do first. Which as a part is very helpful. They sing songs to the kids to to calm them down. It's a very clean and tidy atmosphere. We were in and out with with both kids in like 20/25 mins.

Won't be returning. We showed up for our 6 month cleaning for our daughter and were informed that they had cancelled our appointment. They stated that we never confirmed the appointment. We never received a single phone call to confirm. We are now taking our daughter to Odgen Dental Group.
