J.R. Millington Dentistry is a state-of-the-art dental practice located in Trussville, Alabama. We are a family practice that offers a variety of cosmetic procedures, digital x-rays, and laser technology. The purpose of J.R. Millington Dentistry is to spread the love of Jesus Christ while preserving and restoring oral health in a patient-driven manner. We strive to develop lifelong relationships with our patients by combining a professional and compassionate staff with the latest in dental technology. The result is a beautiful, healthy smile that lasts a lifetime!
J.R. was born and raised in Birmingham and graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 2001. After high school, J.R. attended Auburn University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the UAB School of Dentistry.
J.R. is married to his high school sweetheart, Amy, and they have four children: Olivia, Anna Kayt, Trip, and Brigs. J.R. and his family live in Trussville and enjoy investing back into the community. J.R., his family, and the office are supporters of local non-profits, NO LONGER and SERVING YOU MINISTRIES.
Alex joined our practice in August 2020. He is a native of Dothan, AL, and graduated from Providence Christian School in 2012. After completing his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Auburn University, he moved to Houston, TX, where he received training from the UTHealth School of Dentistry and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Alex met his wife, Alexandra, at Auburn University and they have been happily married for two years. They are excited to now be members of the Trussville Community. Alex enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, snow-skiing and serving his church and community.
Betsy helped launch the practice in 2012 and is the mother of Dr. Millington. Patients enjoy Betsys kind personality and her gift of hospitality. One of Betsys greatest hobbies is spending time in the kitchen baking. The patients at J.R. Millington Dentistry enjoy Betsys homemade sweets made available daily in the reception area!
Alexis is originally from Indiana. She has held a dental hygiene license for over 35 years. Alexis is best known for her contagious laugh. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out at their lake house with her family.

I was thrilled to find a dental practice that operates on Christian principles & is only a 5 minute drive from my home. The dentists & staff are friendly & skilled. Waiting room is comfortable & soothing. If you need a dentist for yourself or your family, choose this practice!

Beautiful establishment with very hospitable staff and with great hours for people that work 8-5! I was nervous about getting my teeth cleaned but my hygienist was patient and friendly. The dentist actually took time after my cleaning to listen to my concerns. As long as I'm in the Trussville area I will always use J.R.Millington as my dentist.

J.R. Millington Dentistry is amazing! The staff is always friendly, listens to my concerns and offers the best options for my comfort and peace of mind. Each visit I learn something new about how to keep my teeth and gums healthy and clean. I look forward to my appointments and couldn't imagine trusting my mouth to anyone else. Update: still LOVE this appointment most of all! I'm also a fan of the Cavitron (replaces the scraping)!

I've seen tons of dentist and by far they are the absolute best! I personally hate the dentist and it literally gives me so much anxiety but Dr. J.R and his team are always unbelievably sweet! They make me feel so at home and comfortable!! You will not find a better dentist!
