Dr. Jeuel Joy Espaola strives to provide quality dental care with patient comfort as her number-one priority. She keeps her patients smiling by addressing their individual needs while providing the highest possible dental care.
Dr. Joy earned her degree at the University of the East, College of Dentistry, in the Philippines, and has been practicing dentistry in the Bay Area for more than 15 years.Dr. Joy continuously educates herself in the ever-changing field of dentistry by attending several hands-on courses and lectures each year to ensure she is providing her patients with the quality of dental care they truly deserve.
When Dr. Joy is not practicing her passion of dentistry, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two boys. She also participates in marathons and other athletic events throughout the Bay Area.

From the first day I started working here at Joyful Smile, I felt welcomed. We are not just coworkers but friends outside of work. From karaoke nights to wine tasting we enjoy each other's company. This attitude is reflected to the care to of our patients. I enjoy working here knowing that patient will be taken care of with respect and kindness. My day consists of mostly making sure your insurance coordinates and is billed correctly for all procedures.
Always interested in the healthcare field, I started working in dentistry over 18 years ago. I've had the pleasure of wearing many different hats starting from dental assisting to currently dental hygiene. I am passionate in educating patients in regards to not only their oral health but with the importance of the connection between oral and overall systemic health. I truly love getting to know each and every one of my patients in order to provide them with the best personalized care possible. I am blessed to work with my Joyful Smile family who are hard working, caring and compassionate.
I graduated with my Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Oxnard College in 2013, and began working at Joyful Smile Family Dentistry in 2014. While working, I continued my education through Loma Linda University and received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2016.
Outside of the office, I like to spend time with my fianc, family, and friends. My best friend is my toy Pomeranian dog, Simba. I also enjoy traveling to new places, I am also a barre addict and instructor at the Bar Method, a foodie, and a Golden State Warriors fanatic. Go Warriors!
Ive been working in dental offices since I was 16 years old; I started off filing patient charts and helping out in the front office. After obtaining my x-ray license, I also began working as an x-ray technician. Years later, I completed dental assisting school and have been working as a Registered Dental Assistant since 2009. It feels great waking up every morning and wanting to go to work because I truly love what I do. What I like most about my job is that I get to help patients feel comfortable. Not many people say they love coming to the dentist, but my coworkers and I try our very best to change their perspective and provide our patients with the best possible care.
I always believe in starting my day with a smile. As a registered dental assistant, I am pleased to be a part of changing patients smiles, knowing that it can also transform their lives. At each dental visit, I try my best to make patients feel comfortable and create an easy experience for them. I am truly blessed to belong to Dr. Joys awesome team. Away from work, my favorite thing to do is cooking for my family, friends and co-workers.
The fact that all the work done within our doors really helps great people, means I love my job. Its also wonderful, being the doctors husband, that I get to see my wife doing something that shes excellent at and passionate about. The care she provides for our patients, and the team she has built, are inspiring. I oversee all that happens in the office, and make sure that everything is perfect for our patients. After all, we are here to serve and care for them, and we can only do that if everything is well-coordinated and were able to do our jobs without distraction or feeling pushed for time. Away from work, I love spending time with my two sons and my wife. I also am a big fan of the Golden State Warriors and all sorts of athletics.
I love the challenges of keeping our network up and running. It is essential for our office that our computers, software, and other technologies are functioning properly, so our team can concentrate on caring for the patients, rather than arguing with a machine. My work allows everything to move efficiently and smoothly, to the benefit of all. I am the youngest in our office, and Im also Dr. Joys oldest son. Im a tech-savvy person and I enjoy working on computers, so this is a great job for me.

All staff were friendly and helpful. Dr. Joy is amazing. She's patient, and gentle with my daughter. My nine year old is anxious and she keeps her calm while working with her. She shows and explains my daughters xraYs to her as she explains what's going on. This is helpful to a child! I have nothing but positive experiences from everyone in the entire office.

Plain and simple.. this dentist office has turned my fears of going to the dentist completely around!! I now call to schedule routine cleaning appointments :) I'm no longer waiting until I feel like I'm dying.. Dr. Joy listens to the patient and makes them feel reassured that you're in good hands. Dr. Joy and her staff are so welcoming, gentle and overall amazing. I have several issues with my teeth and Dr. Joy put together a treatment plan that will meet my needs but isn't overboard. What I wanted to do was really invasive and she steered me to a more reasonable, cheaper solution that will get me the same end results. Highly recommend you visit this practice.

Dr Joy is very professional, and skillful with her dentistry work. I have gone through several dentist, and I always have reservation about dentist recommending me work that does not need to be done. This is my 1st time getting a crown and I am very happy with the results. Very seldom I put recommendation but I am confident if you choose Dr. Joy, you will not need to change dentist again! Her Staff are all so wonderful, and professional as well. Appointments and reminders are easy, and they all make the trip much less stressful.
