Having lived in Southaven all of her life and having treated patients in DeSoto County for over twenty years, Dr. Huggins relocated her practice in February, 2015 to the Snowden District on Getwell Road in Southaven to be more centrally located and to allow for the growth and comfort of her patient base.
Dr. Huggins goal is to restore all her patients to optimum oral health, and she is capable of providing a vast array of services to accomplish just that. Whether a patient requires periodontal therapy, fillings, crowns/bridges, implant restoration, or even a simple biteguard, Dr. Huggins tries to ensure every patient receives quality care in a comfortable environment. Stressing continuing care (to help prevent dental issues before they happen) allows wonderful long term relationships to form between herself, her patients, and her staff.
Dr. Huggins has more than 20 years experience treating patients in DeSoto County. She completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Mississippi before earning her dental degree, with honors, from the University of Tennessee. While there, Dr. Huggins was honored to be selected for membership into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, as well as the Richard Doggett Dean and Marguerite Taylor Dean Honorary Odontological Society.
Dr. Huggins is a lifelong DeSoto Countian, graduating from Southaven High School. Following dental school, she practiced for two years in Memphis, Tennessee, before coming back home to Southaven to treat patients.
In order to be more centrally located for all her patients in the county, Dr. Huggins opened her new office in February 2015, on Getwell Road between Goodman Road and Church Road in the Deerchase Office Park near Snowden Grove. Close attention was paid in selecting state-of-the-art dental equipment to help facilitate the highest quality of care, practiced in a gentle and caring manner.
Dr. Huggins loves to help patients with their smiles, whether through a cosmetic or reconstructive service, or through regular preventative services. A high priority is placed on continuing care hygiene recall to help insure healthy mouths for all of her patients. Dental cleanings are recommended every 3, 4, or 6 months, depending on the specific needs of the patient.
Dr. Huggins stays current on continuing education. She has participated in mission trips to Guatemala, El Salvador, and Ecuador through the Christian Medical and Dental Association of the University of Tennessee. She also has served on two mission trips to Peru through her church, DeSoto Hills Baptist Church, where she sings in the adult choir and in the ladies ensemble, One Voice.
A lifelong resident of DeSoto County, I currently reside in Hernando with my husband, Tommy. We have two sons, Will and Thomas. Some of my favorite things to do are exercising, watching sports, and reading. I have over twenty-five years experience in the dental field and have been with Dr. Huggins since 2007. Our goal is to make your dental experience a pleasant one.
I am a Chicago native transplanted in the Mid-South. I moved here to be closer to family in 2007. Leaving behind a job in sales, I decided to attend the Dental Assistant program at Delta Technical Institute. I have been working with Dr. Huggins since 2010 and absolutely love what I do. Currently, I reside in Hernando with my husband Dwain, my two children Regan and Rosco, and my two dogs Jager and Abby.
I am a registered dental hygienist who has practiced with Dr. Huggins since 2002. I received my degree in dental hygiene from Northeast Mississippi Community College. I reside in Ripley, MS, with my husband Richard. We have three children, Baylor, Sophia, and Vince. I enjoy reading, gardening, and fitness as hobbies, and in February of 2015, I received my personal training certification from the International Sports Sciences Association. I truly enjoy getting to know our patients and trying to provide them with the best care I can.
With experience in the dental field since I was in high school, I can not imagine myself doing anything else. As a hygienist, helping people to have a reason to smile is the most rewarding part of my job. I live in Water Valley with my husband Vaughn and our son, Wyatt. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to achieve optimal oral health.

Unable to make dentist appointment because the receptionist who's answering the phone is very rude! As of Oct.24, 2022 around 3pm, called in about 45 times but they just keep on dropping my call. Very rude and unprofessional! I hope the management could address this issue. Very disappointed with their customer service.

Dr. Huggins office is very friendly. All the ladies from the front desk to the dental hygienists are friendly and polite! Seeing this dentist has always been a very good experience for me. I would highly recommend Dr. Huggins for anyone needing a dentist!

Everyone there was extremely nice. First time I ever had an office waiting on me to finish paperwork to get started. Gotta say this, some of the most beautiful women I've seen work there. Definitely helps when you are mouth open in a little pain.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I have never been so embarrassed and made to feel so small by a doctor's office in my life. I have been going to this dentist for years and have had dental work done by her before. I always paid my bill as soon as they made it known to me. I was supposed to have a crown done today, but when I showed up they refused to do the work unless I paid my $275 coinsurance on the spot. Yesterday they called to confirm the appointment and didn't mention payment at all, so when I realized I had left my debit card at home, I asked if I could call back with the payment later today. I even offered to put it on a credit card, but they didn't take that particular company. It's fine if you need to collect payment at the time of service, but if that's your policy, you need to tell people to bring it ahead of time instead of springing the payment on them when they arrive and then holding their dental care hostage. It was also a waste of everyone's time because now Dr. Huggins doesn't have a patient for that time slot and I will have to make yet another appointment (with someone else!) after already rescheduling my time to fit this in today. On top of that it's humiliating and unprofessional to be refused service in the waiting room where other patients can hear the entire exchange, especially since this all could've easily been avoided. I would've gladly paid ahead of time if they had just communicated better.

I went to Dr. Huggins to get a tooth pulled that was hurting. It was lower right back bottom. She suggested I try to save it. 2-9-2021. She suggested having a endodontist look to make sure it did not need a root canal first. And endodontist says it needs a root canal I paid $1410 for that on February 24th 2021. Tooth continued to hurt I went back to the endodontist on March 15th. He said tooth could have a crack but once Crown was put on that should stop. March 16th dr. Huggins put the crown on tooth continue to hurt. My 6 months cleaning was due March 28th so I waited till then. I told the hygienist it was still hurting she took an x-ray and it showed the tooth had a crack at the gum line. Dr. Huggins came in and briefly looked at it left and went and called the endodontists. He said he told her that he told me it could have a crack. I asked what I could do to stop the pain was told the only recourse was to pull the tooth after spending $2,400 I left and went home and thought about it for the weekend. I called Monday to get dr. Huggins to go ahead and pull it so the pain would stop. She had her receptionist tell me I needed to go to an oral surgeon to have it pulled. I asked the receptionist was dr. Huggins going to pay for that she told me no doctor Huggins was unwilling to pay anything or do anything. So I told the receptionist I was going to contact the Dental Board in Jackson. She called me later and told me that doctor Huggins said when I get the tooth pulled to send her a copy of the bill and she would get with the endodontist and see what type of reimbursement they might come up with. I told the receptionist that sounded like a ploy to stop me from making a complaint. I made a complaint with the Dental Board in Jackson Mississippi. I sent certified letter to Dr. Hugging and forwarded a copy to the dental examiner board in Jackson Ms. So before you let dr. Huggins do any work you might want to have a second opinion.

I've been going to Dr. Huggins for almost a decade. I love her and her office staff. My husband, father and father-in-law are all patients there as well. We just love her. There usually isn't a long wait. The new office is very clean, and the staff is just super friendly. I highly recommend her.
