For many of our patients, this was the end of the line and they were frustrated. They had been shuffled around. They believed there had to be something out there that would help them. And they were right!
You should look as young as you possibly can. You should be able to go out with those you love and enjoy a beautiful meal. You should smile often and laugh freely. Your smile shouldnt embarrass you and eating the foods you love shouldnt hurt.
If you need help, Dr. Janosek wants to hear from you. He carves out one hour for each of his new patients because he wants to get to know you and find out what you really want. You will never be rushed. Every person is different. Every need is unique.
When Dr. Janosek was a boy, he was responsible for cleaning his grandmothers dentures. She was a Czechoslovakian immigrant who survived the Great Depression, raised eight children, and yet she couldnt eat comfortably due to painful sores caused by the ill-fitting prosthetic. Young Joseph had great compassion for his grandma and he remembers wishing it could be different for her. On October 1, 1985, he opened the doors of his dental practice and though he didnt get the chance to help his grandma, he brings that same compassion to his patients today.
Joseph Janosek graduated from Ray High School and attended Del Mar before pursuing his degree in microbiology at Texas A&M, College Station. He returned to Corpus Christi and ran the medical lab at Driscoll Childrens Hospital.
While working at Driscoll, he sported long hair and played guitar with his nightclub band. He loved those days and even opened for an up and coming band named ZZ Top. His family was growing though, and the long hours between the hospital and the band meant he was missing out on what was most important, time with his baby son. He quit the band, cut his hair, and returned to school.
He attended dental school at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and then continued a prosthodontics residency for two more years before finishing in 1983. He completed his residency, joined the Army Reserve, and opened his Corpus Christi practice all in the same year. The first three months of private practice, he only saw 12 patients, but he listened to each one, gave them treatment that made them happy, and his practice flourished.
Dr. Janosek is the only Board Certified Prosthodontist south of San Antonio. Hes also a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontists as well as a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontics. He taught at UT Health Science Center San Antonio from 1985-1988 and continues to occasionally teach prosthodontic residents about private practices. He was a former president of the Nueces Valley District Dental Society where he remains active as well the Nueces Valley Study Club.
Today, he considers it a compliment that many dentists send their patients, and even family members to him. They understand that hes not here to compete with them but to take the difficult cases. For many patients, Dr. Janosek is the end of the line and their last hope and he loves giving patients their best possible results.

Cissy is a homebody who loves to garden, work on crossword puzzles, and walk her dogs. She has managed Dr. Janoseks practice since he started in 1983 and she enjoys coming to work and interacting with patients who often become her friends. She understands that people can be frustrated or even angry when they first call but she listens to them and reassures them that Dr. Janosek can help. She says patients often dont know what they need but she especially likes the wow factor once they see their results. Cissy has three grown children and has been married to her husband since 1974.
Norma is a rare person who got excited to see the dentist when she was a little girl, so it was a natural fit for her to pursue a career in dentistry. She now has over 25 years experience as a dental assistant and started working with Dr. Janosek in 2005. She truly enjoys the people who come to our practice and finds the older patients particularly engaging. She said she has learned so much history just getting to know them, some who are 100 years old! She says, I dont ever dread coming to work and Im happy when I get here. Norma has a teenage daughter and is a movie enthusiast who sees as many films as she can.
Nicole was a high school history teacher who spent her summer breaks working at the front desk of Dr. Janoseks office. She trained as a dental assistant and started full time in 2014. She is still teaching today though. Dr. Janosek always tries to give people options and sometimes it can feel overwhelming. My job is to help the patient break it down and make it easily understandable. Nicole also appreciates that Dr. Janosek loves what he does so much because that creates a culture where everyone comes in and enjoys their work. Between busy days with new challenges and raising two young children, Nicole finds her Zen place running at the Athletics Club.
Sue was a former patient of Dr. Janoseks who admired his immaculate work and perfectionism. Back then, she dreamed of working for him and got her wish in 2016. With over two decades in the dental profession, she understands the needs of her patients. People want to maintain the dental work that Dr. Janosek has done and protect their investment and Sue is an integral part of that plan. She says that working with Dr. Janosek is like being part of a family. She has two grandkids that she spends a lot of time with and she enjoys being involved in her church and volunteering with the childrens ministry.
Initially, George wanted to be a dentist but with a background in jewelry making, he found himself drawn instead to the dental lab. He likes artistic endeavors and he uses many of the same processes making prosthetics as he did when crafting jewelry. George looks forward to getting up and coming to work every day and has been part of our team since 2001. He says, I love working for Dr. Janosek because he is thoughtful, considerate, and professional. He really cares about people. George has three daughters and two grandkids. He volunteers as a deacon at his church and occasionally enjoys travel.
