Dr. Rosenwald is a native of Frederick, Maryland. He attended Mount Saint Marys University, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University. He completed a two-year general practice residency program with Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lyons, New Jersey.
Dr. Rosenwald was trained at the Misch International Implant Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. He has attended both the Pankey Institute and Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Studies. He was a scholar and faculty member at the Dawson Academy. Dr. Rosenwald has attended the Esthetic Dentistry Continuum at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Rosenwald has been in private practice in Gaithersburg for over 35 years. He has extensive experience in treating complex cases and TMJ disorders. He was a dental consultant for The Village at Rockville, an elder care facility, for nine years. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Rosenwald proudly serves as a Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. He is currently an instructor at the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center at Fort Bragg, NC. In addition to serving in the Army Reserve, Dr. Rosenwald is a volunteer dentist at the clinic on Smith Island, MD.

Excellent dental place. Everything about it was awesome. receptionists were very kind and welcoming. DrJoseph M.Rosenwald is great dentists who are very skilled and care for their patients, The Hygienist is great they made me feel comfortable, All the staff have been very professional and caring. Dr. Rosenwald and his staff are extremely compassionate and knowledgeable! From emergencies to scheduled cleaning, the care and attention to details are exceptional! Anyone in need of a DDS must come and meet this outstanding staff! I have, in more than one occasions, had emergency care on days when the office was closed, with his amazing assistant Dawn present as well. His intelligent conversations are a plus! I am deeply thankful for Dr. Rosenwald's expertise and care. I have never been in the care of a better dentist!!

I'm a new patient with Dr. Rosenwald, and was very happy with my first visit. Dr. Rosenwald and his staff were both very competent and answered all my questions. The exam was very thorough and I feel confident that my teeth are in good hands!

I had read (before having the distinct privilege to meet Dr. Rosenwald in person) exclusively 5-star reviews on Google about him while searching for an experienced DDS to replace our dentist who had retired. Dr Rosenwald performed on me a very labor-intensive 2-molar extraction. About my experience, in a word: FABULOUS! In two words : UNHEARD OF! In more words : heavenly anesthesia, absolutely NO PAIN, NO SWELLING after the procedure, no need for ice or OTC painkillers. Bottom line : Dr. Rosenwald - an ace in his profession doubled by : a) an excellent teacher who explains to the patient in detail all the technical aspects of the dental work to be done; b) a warm, friendly, compassionate, understanding, patient human being. At age 83, I need to state: I have experienced in Dr. Rosenwald's dental chair the most pleasant dentist's visit of a lifetime.Miss Dawn, Dr. Rosenwald's Assistant : a dream of skillfulness, courtesy and professionalism. Congratulations and heart-felt thanks to Dr. Rosenwald and to his successful team of experts.

I had a tooth pulled here and it was quick, easy and you gotta love the service! Joe was able to see me for the surgery right away. This was perfect because I discovered my problem tooth was due to an infection. these injuries are best to take of quickly. I also appreciated the post-op follow up call. I would recommend to a friend.

My family has been seeing Doctor Rosenwald since he started in our area. To simplify this review I'll tell you I moved to Florida in 2012 and I still come twice a year for my dental care. I think that says it all.

Dr. Rosenwald is the best dentist around! It's actually fun to try and keep up a conversation with him while he fixes your dental problems. The office is immaculate and his wife keeps it decorated for every holiday. In the bathroom, you can choose from many different hand lotions, chap sticks, etc. He always has a choice of beverages if you wish one on your way out. Karen at the desk is fun and keeps up good conversation. The hygienist is efficient. Dr. Rosenwald can always fit in an emergency. My twenty something children also go to this office. Parking is easy. I think he even has WiFi now, and there is always something to watch on the TV while your teeth are being cleaned. I highly recommend Dr. Rosenwald.
