Dr. Kunnel, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, was former Chief Orthodontist at Midwestern University School of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, IL; is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University 's Medical School in Chicago and an Orthodontic Instructor at Northshore University Hospital in Evanston. Dr. Kunnel has been the recipient of several awards including the Orhan C. Tuncay Teaching Fellowship Award from the American Association of Orthodontists, the Clinical Scientist Award from the National Institute of Health, and the Howard Hughes Award. He has published several peer-reviewed scientific papers, and lectures at many national and international meetings. Dr. Kunnel is on the forefront of 'Accelerated Orthodontics', using laser, propel, acceledent to reduce treatment time.
Dr. Kunnel offers children, teens and adults the most advanced materials, equipment and techniques in orthodontics with the goal of assisting each patient in achieving healthy, functioning teeth and an inviting smile. Dr. Kunnel offers treatment options that include, traditional braces, self-ligating braces or highly esthetic clear braces, and Invisalign.
Dr. Danielle Pianoreceived her doctorate from Midwestern University, Illinois, and completed her specialty training at Loma Linda University, earning a masters degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Piano stays current with the latest techniques, treatments, and products to ensure her patients receive state-of-the-art care. Furthermore, she maintains professional relationships with the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, and Illinois State Dental Society as a member of these organizations.
Dr. Piano is a native of Burr Ridge, Illinois and found a passion for orthodontics early on, having grown up amongst dental professionals. She takes pride in her work, and enjoys seeing the progression of her patients from start to finish. Its always a pleasure to reflect on those before and after photos and to see the work youve accomplished together in the form of a smile.
When Dr. Piano is not attending to patients, you can find her in the kitchen cooking with family and traveling with friends. She also enjoys Pilates and spending time outdoors with her two dogs, Vinny and Harper. Dr. Danielle Piano highly recommends being adventurous when it comes to trying new food, but always keeps a toothbrush and sugar-free gum on hand for after!
