I came in for a routine dental cleaning and found Dr Goscilo and his staff to be friendly and approachable. However, they slapped a $25 surprise charge for what they call an "oral hygiene training," which they explained was part of the dental cleaning service but not charged by the insurance company. When I asked for them to take it out of my service and just do the cleaning they refused, and the dentist lectured me on how "every patient is different." While I can respect that this is an integral part of their service and what they deem necessary to meet their intended standard of care, I do not appreciate that this was not disclosed to me when I initially called to make the appointment, especially since I specifically asked if the dental cleaning will be fully covered by insurance and I wouldn't owe anything extra (My experience with the US healthcare system has caused me to have intense paranoia about surprise charges, due to past experiences with medical professionals I felt were clearly out to make an extra buck off me). Before Covid I had been seeing getting teeth cleanings in Singapore for many years the "oral hygiene training" was something that was just common practice for dentists to provide, for free, just because they care.

While I originally thought I had a pleasant and routine teeth cleaning experience at Dr. Goscilo's office (nothing out of ordinary) and left a 5 star review on Facebook, I encountered some follow-up issues later on. 1) I was advised by Dr. Goscilo to replace several fillings (4 or 5) in addition to the actual tooth ache I came to consult on. That sounded pretty extreme to me, so I decided to get a second opinion. The other dentist I saw didn't mention anything about the need for new fillings, even when I pressed him on it. My previous dentist never thought there was a need of replacing my old fillings as nothing was wrong with them, so why do it? 2) The second issue I encounter afterwards was a surprise bill I got in the mail. While my insurance covered 90%, I was billed for the remaining 10%. When I called to inquire as to why I am being billed the remaining 10% (when they assured me they were in-network), I find out that they were in-network but non-preferred, something I was not told during the visit. So do your homework and double check with your insurance first - do not take their word for it. Also, be prepared to pay for an "oral hygiene instruction ($25!)", which basically means they tell you how to brush and floss your teeth. According to my insurance, this is usually written off and they were surprised I was being charged for it. If you are a new patient, do your research first and don't trust these 5 star reviews as they can be quite misleading. I give them 2 stars for cleanliness in their office and for a pretty basic teeth cleaning.

My family of 5 has been seeing Dr. Goscilo for over 7 years. Even when we moved over an hour away we still continue to make our appointments with him & his staff. Always professional, personable, and prompt!

My first visit. Recommended by my neighbor. Everyone was very warm, friendly, accommodating and professional. Clean and comfortable environment. They use their time well and respected mine. Good dental hygiene tips. The dentist inspires confidence and they don't try to upsell treatments you don't need. I made an appointment for my husband and plan to stay with Dr. Goscilo. Highly recommend.

Really great dentist with the most amazing staff working alongside with him. I've never had an extraordinary experience with dental offices, it seemed they wanted to just get the most out of you and not even do a great job at that but I felt like at this place they really care to give only what you need done and will deliver the best service. I'm glad I found this place!
