Dr. Dotson practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry where he and his team of caring, experienced dental professionals use advanced technologies, materials and procedures to provide the best dental care possible. Dr. Dotson is also a caring listener and will explain beforehand, which treatment is best for your individual needs.
While we offer convenient, comfortable care for the entire family, we know that the most important thing we can provide is being there when you need us the most. We make time in our schedule to treat emergencies quickly. Our priority is for your comfort.
Dr. Dotson was raised in Vienna, West Virginia. He completed his undergraduate education at West Virginia Wesleyan in 1979 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He then continued on to West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown to earn his D.D.S. in 1983. Go Mountaineers!
Dr. Dotson moved to Tampa, FL to join his uncles dental practice. He has been in practice since 1983 and has more than thirty five years of dental experience. The practice is still privately owned and operated and not a corporate dental office. Dr. Dotson takes pride in providing patients with a positive dental experience in a caring, understanding environment. The entire staff wants every patient to leave the office feeling that we made their visit as pleasant as possible.
Dr. Dotson is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Hillsborough County Dental Association, Hillsborough County Dental Research Clinic, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and Fellow, American College of Dentists. Dr. Dotson is married to Kathy and has two grown children, Jared and Mallory. When not providing excellent dental care to his patients, Dr. Dotson enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, playing basketball and working in the yard.

Alison, who cleaned my teeth was so thorough with her cleaning. She was very detailed oriented and did a fantastic job. Dr. DOTSON always takes the time to chat, and you can tell he really cares about you as a person. This office is a wonderful place, and I would recommend it without hesitation. My husband uses Dr. Dotson's office as well, and he also thinks very highly of Dr. Dotson and his staff. My husband has had a lot of severe dental problems. Dr. Dotson has helped him through a very challenging situation with his teeth. They do the best job of being very gentle when needed, and making sure you are comfortable and as pain-free as possible.

Dr Dotson and Dr Nester (retired) Have been my familys dentists starting with me in 1957 with Dr Nester for 51 years and the rest of my family with Dr Dotson. Now that Dr Nester has retired I had my first visit with Dr Dotson today 12/26/18 and experianced why my entire family loves Dr Dotson so much...He is a great Dentist and you will love him as much as me and my family loves him !!! And oh my goodness, the entire staff as well as the hygienist is so great and she is pain free I had to visit Dr Dotson in August and September 2021 for work on a partial anchor tooth that had to be extracted due to compression fraction. He had to add a tooth to the partial and anchor the partial next to the one that had been removed and after it was all done, I came out with a perfect fit on my partial.... Thanks Dr. Dotson and all of his excellent staff members.. 11/22/2021 Today was just a thorough dental cleaning with the new Dental Hygienist and staff member. This lady did an excellent and pain free job on cleaning my teeth!!! Dr Dotson came and gave my teeth a thorough examination and a clean bill of health for another 6 months...

Doctor Dotson has been my family's dentist for over twenty years. He is kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable - a true gentleman. His staff is always courteous. I can recommend Dr. Dotson without hesitation. Do yourself and your family a favor and visit my favorite Dentist in the whole wide world. I know, I know Doctor - I still drink too much orange juice.

Dr Dotson is a very excellent dentist. His hygienist is also very professional and good. The entire office is handling our pandemic so as to keep us safe. I strongly recommend them to anyone who has a mouth with teeth!
