Primary teeth first emerge before a childs first birthday, at around 6 to 8 months. By their third birthday, all 20 primary teeth have appeared. This first set of teeth allow your child to develop normal speech and eating habits. Though these eventually fall out and make way for adult teeth, it is still important to keep primary teeth heathy and prevent infection or decay that may spread to other areas of the mouth. Keeping good dental habits and visiting your pediatric dentist at a young age will help prepare for adult dental care.

Your childs first permanent teeth start to appear by age 6, and around the ages of 12-14, they will all be present. (The only teeth that may not appear at this time are the wisdom teeth or final set of molars.) There are 32 secondary, or adult, teeth, though many adults will have had their wisdom teeth removed to create adequate space. These teeth are comprised of the incisors in the front; canines to the sides; the middle bicuspids or pre-molars; and finally, the molars. While these teeth develop abnormalities can appear, and it may be necessary to find a local pediatric dentist, in West Jordan, Utah, or wherever you live.

I've been taking my children to Dr. Johansson for about 15 years now. My youngest just turned 18 and I'm heartbroken to not have anyone go to this office anymore. This office has always been wonderful and there's not any games when it comes to billing like other dentist offices. I'm very grateful for the service we've received here over the years.

After my 2 boys had been going regularly to him since ages 2 and 3, we had a checkup amd Dr..said hey each had 2 cavities way in the back. We went to schedule for fillings amd it was 3 months out. I already thought that strange. 2 weeks later my 1 son got his braces off. The orthodontist hygienist said she noticed cavities. I decided to have my.demtist of 26 yrs. See them. One son had 6 and the other 5. The one sonnmight now meed a root canal because the dentist didn't "catch it" sooner. Needless to say, I've lost all faith in Dr. Johansen

The doctors are awesome but the Managnent of the office is awful. One time I checked my kid out for an appointment scheduled after his previous 6 month checkup and they were closed and bother to cancel us. This time we had his 6 month and we had 2 cavities my son was uncomfortable. They scheduled 2.5 months later but when we arrived they didn't have him on the schedule. They offered 1 option of a lunch time (I work and cannot just rearrange AGAIN) or 3 months further out. Terrible terrible terrible!

I took my 2 yo here for her 1st official dentist appointment, as I wanted a pediatric Dentist. I walked into the office I noticed it was very clean, due to Covid, there were no toys or anything the children could play on, even with that, the ocean themed office was cute and my child loved the shark and Nemo fish art. From the front office ladies to the Dentist and his staff, they were patient and great with my Toddler. She was happy and was able to choose a prize when she was done. I am happy I found these guys!

We had a great experience. The waiting room is such a fun area for kids. My son could not stop expressing that the assistant and Dr were the best dentist ever. He was very much at ease and had a great time at his appointment. Dr Burt is super nice and his assistant was so sweet to my son and you can tell she works very well with kids. I will recommend Jordan Landing Pediatrics to every parent I know.

The dentist is okay if they actually see you. I have had three appointments cancelled by them. When you're only seen twice a year that is a bit excessive.

It was my sons first time going to this dentist office. He's Autistic & non verbal so I was super worried about the understanding of his disability & reaction he would have . The staff was great , as they work with kids with disabilities. They did everything to try & keep him calm & comfortable for his visit when he was scared . They were super nice to us & my kids. Definitely look forward to future visits for my kiddos.

My 6 year old had to have an extraction. We were so lucky to be referred to Jordan Landing Pediatric Dentistry. We saw both Dr. Burt and Dr. Johansen. They were both great. Sausha in the office was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about our insurance and really went above and beyond to get us an appointment for a day that worked for our circumstance. Their office is really cute and has all the amenities. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Gutzman did the anesthesiology. He was very caring and empathetic. He explained everything perfectly. My son was in very good hands. The customer service was perfect and I would recommend that all my friends and family take their children here.

My two little guys love this place. My 6 yo started coming here when he was 3-4 yo. And my 3 yo had his first appointment 7/19, and had a great experience. The staff is wonderful and Dr Johansen is great. Both my boys appreciate the TV/Video games on the ceiling above each exam chair.
