It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter. After many years of devotion to practicing dentistry, I came to the realization that I need to slow down and spend more time with my family. I regret not being able to tell you all in person. I have been practicing dentistry for over forty years. Some of you have been with me the entire time. Weve matured together. In many cases, Ive treated your children, your grandchildren, and in a few cases, your great-grandchildren. Weve gone through births, deaths, marriages, new careers and retirements. I have shared your joys and your anguish and many of you have shared mine. I thank you all and count you among my lifes many blessings.
I didn't want to leave my practice without finding someone who shared my philosophy of providing gentle and caring dentistry. Besides being skilled and experienced, I wanted my successor to be compassionate, a good communicator, ethical and someone who genuinely cares about dentistry and most importantly people.
I feel fortunate that I have found that person. I am very happy to announce that Dr. Jonathan J. Yu will be assuming the responsibility of the practice once I retire. Dr. Yu has been consistently rated and regarded as one of the top dentists in the area. Many of you have already met him and been treated by him. Ive only heard and received glowing praises of Dr. Yu from patients. For those of you who havent met him yet, he looks forward to meeting all of you. I personally trained him and picked him from numerous candidates. I am confident that you will be very comfortable with him not only because of his outstanding achievements but also because of his gentleness and integrity.
Dr. Yu grew up in Cupertino and when graduating from high school, he was selected as the Santa Clara County Youth Ambassador and was recognized as the top high school student for excellence in academics and community services. Dr. Yu received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California with multiple awards and honors. Dr. Yu has participated in extensive clinical and scientific research and published papers and given presentations at number of scientific conferences.
I will continue to discuss cases with Dr. Yu as necessary to ensure a smooth transition. I am very pleased to tell you that our wonderful staff will be staying with Dr. Yu. The same friendly smiles will greet you when you arrive and their knowledge of your individual needs will assure that you will continue to receive excellent dental care.
I will miss seeing all of you on a regular basis. My family and I have been treated by Dr. Yu and will continue being patients of Dr. Yu, so I may get to see you someday soon in the waiting room. I truly thank you for your loyalty and friendship over the years and for allowing me to be a part of your life. I am confident that your dental needs are left in caring and capable hands.

Regrettable experience with repeatable problems. In 2020, a crown popped out and had to be recemented. In summer this year (2022), a different crown cracked and had to be replaced. Because I moved out of state, I had to pay for a full cost of crowning from another dentistry! Now, in fall, another crown popped out of my mouth. These 3 isolated incidents with repeatable problems make me regret getting crown from here, especially after I have given a lot of more care to my teeth post-work. Customer service is great. Dr. Yu and his staff are very friendly. However, I wouldn't get crowning work done here.

Dr. Yu is absolutely wonderful! I have very sensitive teeth, and he is always so gentle and accommodating about that. He is also a very thorough dentist, who does excellent, meticulous work and takes the time to explain what he sees and why. His staff are wonderful as well--always kind and welcoming. My daughter and I both go to Dr. Yu, and I couldn't recommend him more!

Dr.Yu and his team are absolutely wonderful! From the moment you call to schedule an appointment to when you've had work done, the team is consistent and very professional. I hadn't been to a dentist in 10 years due to extreme anxiety surrounding dental work. Reception was very understanding and comforting, the dental assistants are FAST! Holy cow, and Dr. Yu was very conscious about my anxiety and did not rush me one bit. He was incredibly fast as well. I am incredibly pleased and impressed by this team. If you have anxiety at all, or are just looking for a good dentist, this is the place to go. super happy.

Dr Yu and his staff are a very competent, knowledgeable and friendly. He explains the procedures he is performing and provides for alternative pathways for solving maladies he encounters with your teeth, if need be. I trust his decisions and follow the advice he has given and he comes through with compassion and care.

I am very happy with Doctor Yu's and his assistant staff services. The staff here is so friendly and Dr. Yu is really knowledgeable on how to proceed with different treatment plans. Great dentist! This is the best Dentist ever Dr Yu explains everything that need to be done the staff very nice and on it they had my insurance already even before my appointment that was awesome this is the cleanest dentist I've ever been to without that nasty dental office smell I almost forgot I was at a dentist office if it weren't for the fact my mouth was open and they where working on my teeth going to the dentist is not my favorite place to be but I actually am looking forward to my next appointment if your reading this I highly strongly suggest you give them a try you will not be Disappointed thank you Dr Yu and staff for your professional and friendly experience Anthony LaRosa

I've had many dentists over the years but Dr. Yu is the best. He came up with treatments and a plan that ultimately gave me with the best smile I've ever had, period. The best part is that he takes pictures and shows you exactly what's going on with your teeth, then discusses what should be done, and provides a roadmap to get there. Amazing. Plus, he can make crowns right there in the office, so none of that temporary-crown-and-come-back-in-two-weeks nonsense. My highest recommendation.

Very pleasant and professional service for my teeth cleaning. The hygenist is very gental and the receptionist is very kind and accommodating. I feel that i have the greatest dentist Dr Yu. He has done wonders with my teeth and i appreciate his work.
