I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Do in 2020 during early COVID times. I had a strange gum inflammation issue, and, at the time, my previous dentist was not responsive to my dental issue. Dr. Do saved my tooth, and has done excellent work on grafting areas where I have gum recession. His concern with cleanliness (especially during COVID) - hand-washing/air-purification, gentle but thorough dental care, willingness to explain and answer any of my dental questions with ease, photos to show how I can improve dental care and areas where I've made progress, check-ins with me by phone/text after major dental work has been done, and availability to answer any Qs I have between appointments are what make him a unique periodontist. He has a nice balance of genuine care, professionalism, and knowledge. Thank you Dr. Do for taking care of my gums and teeth, and being there when I have needed emergency care!

Dr. Do truly cares to achieve the best result when taking care of you. I recently came to Dr. Do to get my wisdom teeth extracted and my experience was excellent with minimal swelling. Dr. Do was very efficient, thorough, and fast in my treatment and he even called me later that day to check up on how I was doing after the treatment and I thought that was very caring of him to do so. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a periodontist as he is extremely thorough and will do an exceptional job for you.

Dr. Do is the BEST. If you want something done at the highest level and with the most attention to detail go to him. I knocked my front tooth out when I was a child and just recently broke the old crown. When other doctors said it would be months of repair, or bc it was a front tooth they would not take the case, and that I may never have a natural smile line again, I was devastated. I was referred to Dr.Do by 2 other doctors. I am so glad I went. He did the whole procedure in one day. Retrofitted my original crown so I didn't have to go without a front tooth for months while the implant healed and was able to do a gum graph the same day. It looks amazing! Your smile is everything, don't look anywhere else!

Dr. Do is a true professional who consistently exceeds my highest expectations. Because of his treatment and valuable instruction on how to properly brush, he's given me hope for achieving and maintaining healthy teeth and gums. After hours of thorough research, I feel extremely fortunate to have found him and can say with certainty that Dr. Do is the best! I especially appreciate the time he takes to explain not only the way I should clean my gums but the reasons why it's so critically important. Beyond Dr. Do's experience, knowledge and expertise, he's also a great encourager (I need that). He is extremely thorough and his patients needs are his top priority!

I am honored and indebted to have received dental services from Dr. Do these two years. His specialization in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease is world class. He was patient, kind, and extremely considerate of my wellbeing and comfort through each procedure, and I needed a lot done. Dr. walked me through every procedure and provided additional study data to increase my understanding. He also taught me improved dental hygiene practices, which will preserve my heathy dental habits for life! Wonderfully professional, extremely capable, and out of my insurance network (!), he and his office staff are the only specialized dental providers I or my family will ever patronize. Thank you for Saturday appointments in Poway, CA. I look forward to returning, as I did today, from my new home in Florida, to receive your most capable services!

IN SHORT: Super genuine, Great care, Impressive Knowledge, Amazing Talent! He's also a Perio Professor at UCLA! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :) Patients travel from far for him ;) My dad has a very complex case, after multiple consultations, we went with a decision in which we regret - 2 bridges which failed in less than 2 years. We decided to go with Dr. Do for sinus lift and implant route, wish we had done so initially. We live in OC and decided to trust the good reviews and referrals, and take road trips to Dr. Do's office. It's been a few visits already and each trip driving back home, my Dad couldn't stop complimenting on how gentle, smart, and impressive Dr. Do is. His documentations allow him to easily explain things to my Dad, who up to this age have not known what a sinus look like and what exactly is sinus lift. He was so curious and loved it! We look forward to more appointments with Dr. Do and are excited for the case's completion soon. My Dad looks forward to the day he can have 5 of his missing teeth be restored w/ implants. :) Oh, and each visit, he evaluated my Dad's oral hygiene, and educate him on where to improve. He thoroughly makes sure that his patient keep a healthy regimen! What a great caring periodontist! Sinus Lift procedure: I've always seen sinus lifts to be more agressive with larger window being made, Dr. Do made a 4mm circular window and lifted the whole left side quadrant! It was so impressive. Check out his facebook pictures of cases, they're so impressive. My Dad had minimal swelling, with no post-op pain! Thanks Dr. Do for keeping the standards of treatment so high, and the care so genuine. Much appreciated. :)

If I could give more than five stars, I would give him 10! Dr. Do is by far the best, most thorough and considerate Dentist/Periodontist I have ever been to. With his knowledge and care he was able to save my front tooth from extraction, show me the correct way to care for my teeth and gums which is making a huge difference in my gum heath and whiteness of my teeth....essentially giving my smile back to me. It feels so good to go to a dentist that I have 100% confidence in.

Dr. Do is a phenomenal periodontist who not only provides the best of healthcare to his patients, but also, the education and knowledge needed to maintain oral health. He is patient, caring and demonstrates impeccable skills in periodontal procedures. When first meeting with Dr. Do, I was greeted by a homey office that was clean, peaceful and quiet. Furthermore, he works with his clients on an appointment basis, and provides his patients with his complete attention during consultations. Such attention is much appreciated, since he uses the patient-doctor time to fully educate his patients about the status of their oral health and about the proper ways to brush and maintain oral cleanliness. He usually starts a new consultation by taking pictures of the teeth, and showing patients the issues with their teeth that are usually not spottable. From his images, he gives a thorough diagnosis of symptoms, including tooth decay and bacterial build up, and explains the steps to resolving such issues. He also takes time to educate his patients on the proper method to brush teeth. He uses a tooth brush and personally shows his patients the proper brushing technique, and allows his patients to demonstrate afterwards to ensure that they have fully grasped the proper method. I recently underwent a gum recession restoration procedure and Dr. Do was able to successfully graft tissue and restore the recession. At first, I was very nervous to undergo my first surgery, but throughout the process, he made sure I was feeling well throughout the procedure and not experiencing any pain. The procedure took about two hours, and throughout the procedure, I felt little to no pain, which definitely demonstrated his expertise in his practice. Afterwards, he showed me pictures and videos of the procedure, which I was very interested by as a pre-dental student myself. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Do if you are need of retention, diagnosis, or treatment of periodontal disease. He also performs implant procedures and wisdom teeth extractions, which are two highly requested procedures amongst patients. He is an amazing periodontist and his expertise and skills definitely show in his work.

Dr Do is an excellent Peridontist!!! I never write reviews but he has made such a difference in my life I wanted to share my experience. Meeting him after having numerous surgeries trying to correct an uneven gum line due to a gum graft he was able to finally help me!!! His expertise and knowledge has helped me regain my confidence to smile again!!! His vision along with my Prosthodontists tooth restorations helped to create the smile I have been wanting since I was a teenager. He is by far the best Peridontist I have been treated by. He also helped me with the proper care techniques of maintaining my beautiful new Smile!!!

Dr. Do is thorough, caring and has excellent skills. I had a complicated procedure. He explained everything carefully so that I felt comfortable. He is a perfectionist in the best way...my teeth are beautiful (and he has pictures to prove it!).

This review was first posted on Dr. Do's Yelp page on Thanksgiving 2015. I was so fortunate to be cared by Dr. Do five years ago in his first year as graduate resident in UCLA Postgraduate Periodontics and Implant Surgery Clinic. My long-developed periodontitis was so severe that my general dentist of five years referred me to the UCLA Periodontics Specialty Clinic. To my most 5-6 mm-deep pocketed and bleeding whenever touched gum, Dr. Do performed four surgical procedures on root-planing over a period of two months. Dr. Do followed up closely by recalling me back to the clinic every three months for deep cleaning and maintenance. In additional to the procedures, Dr. Do patiently taught me numerous times the correct oral hygiene, the use of tools (rubber tipper simulator and in-between brush) for daily homework. At the end of his 3-year training, I had almost complete normal gum with most pockets of 2-3 mm depth and no bleeding. He is the best graduate resident in that training program owing to his broad knowledge, sharp skills, and tendering patient care, and the passion for profession. He keeps staying in the clinic room now as a clinic professor to teach new residents and dental students. The patients in San Diego area who are suffering from the deteriorating gum diseases would be thankful for the ease access to Dr. Do's service because no too long they will be confidently telling other people around them that they are so fortunate to have teeth and social life rescued by the Man of Do. and Care.

I took my wife to get a cleaning with Dr. Do and she had an excellent experience. Our friends referred us to him and what we heard was true. He makes a great effort to ensure that the work is done well and that the patients get the knowledge they need to prevent future issues. Dr. Do showed my wife high resolution pictures of her teeth and explained possible areas where her flossing and cleaning needed attention. Other offices usually show these issues through a mirror or a small screen, but with his equipment you can see things very clearly without needing to squint. We look forward to coming back again! Thank you, Dr. Do!

I can't begin to say enough good things about Dr. Do. He was recommended to me by my dentist after a failed attempt at a bone graft in my jaw. Frustrated and nervous about having to go thru the process a second time, I met with Dr. Do for a consultation. At first, I was a little thrown off by how young he is, but I'm so happy that I didn't let that deter me from having him proceed. In a word..."AWESOME." His calm nature helped me to feel calm, his gentle method of giving injections made them the easiest and least painful I've ever had during dental work, and he is very patient, meticulous, and extremely thorough (something you can tell about him when you're in his chair). His aftercare is no less impressive and something worth a BIG mention. He checked in with me often to see how I was doing and to answer any questions or concerns I might've had. He's really quite impressive, and I would recommend Dr. Do to anyone who needs the kind of dental work he provides. He's truly a wonderful doctor and someone all doctors should strive to be like!!!
