I drive from Mississippi to Alabama to see Dr. Bowie. There are zero periodontist in MS that take dental insurance but this one does. I had all 4 quadrants deep cleaned with zero problem a year ago. I will be making my next appointment in a few days. I would definitely recommend.

Friendly and quick. Didn't try to get me to do stuff that wasn't necessary.

My experience with. Dr. Bowie started last year in August. I am still experiencing pain and unable to chew food on the left side of my mouth eight months later. When I was contacted for another appointment I refused to make one. He cleaned under my bridge knowing that i had bone lost. He nevertheless pumped alot of novacaine and swiped one time under my bridge with his cleaning instrument. As a result I am still in pain and unable to chew food on that side of my mouth. It is my opinion that he is neither a professional or a compassionate human being. He gets a thumbs down and no recommendation from me.

Office staff in their Fairhope location is terrible. Not friendly AT ALL. Dr. Bowie was okay, didn't give a lot of information so I had to prompt and ask all the questions. Not what you would expect from someone you are paying a couple thousand dollars to. Think I'll pass.

Extremely disappointing experience all around. We were told one thing about insurance coverage and then billed for another resulting in out-of-pocket expenses that were completely avoidable. The procedure performed was fine and healed well; however there was ZERO post-procedure patient care, no follow-up instructions or even basic attention to the patient! Basically the dr did the work and the staff then sent my daughter out into the parking lot with her mouth numbed up and no information - assuming she would drive herself home! I've never been so surprised by lack of care in a dentist office. Very unfortunate experience - which naturally made receiving the (unexpected) bill even more annoying!

I saw Dr. Bowie yesterday for deep cleaning of my teeth on the right side. This is my 2nd visit to his office on 4728 Airport Blvd. After learning that I had some terrible experience (procedural pain) with previous teeth cleaning, he told me that he would do that for me, after I requested so. As a pain physician and clinical researcher in pain, I usually do some research before going for any procedure, especially pertaining to pain. With this type of deep teeth cleaning, procedural pain and post procedural pain could be quite bothersome... My appointment was scheduled at 3:00pm, the cleaning procedure was started promptly, and completely done before 4pm, by 7:30 pm, all sensation came back, but,, there is ZERO post procedural pain! Today, without needing to take any pain medication, there is no difference in any pain or discomfort, comparing the right side with the left side. I am so pleased and very grateful for the wonderful service I have received from Dr. Bowie and his staff!
