The aim of general dentist James Hoopes, DDS, is to provide patients with the best dental care possible. At Johnson Ranch Family Dentistry and Orthodontics, a state-of-the-art dental facility located in San Tan Valley, Arizona, Dr. Hoopes uses the latest equipment and cutting-edge technology to provide patients with the highest quality dental care available at an affordable price.
Dr. Hoopes completed his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management at Arizona State University in Tempe. He then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in Kansas City, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and received the Rinehart Foundation Scholarship.
After earning his dental degree, Dr. Hoopes trained at Aspen Dental, where he eventually became Managing Clinical Director, and honed his expertise inaesthetic crowns and bridges,dental implants,root canals, dentures, and oral surgery. He then worked as the sole dentist provider at Rio Rancho Dental Associates, located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
He is affiliated with the American Dental Association, New Mexico Dental Association, and Arizona Dental Association. He also participates in Dental XP Continuing Education and Viva Learning Continuing Education.

I've seen a handful of dentists all over the southwestern states, Dr Hoops, the front office ladies, the techs and hygienists are all fantastic. Hands down the best treatment and experience I've had with any dental office. Highly recommend to family, friends and neighbors!

Found Johnson Ranch Family Dental online. I needed emergency help on my permanent retainer. They were able to get me an appointment the same day as I called. The staff and dentist were a pleasure. Would recommend.

Great place and all, but the people working on your teeth usually start talking about personal stuff, but you usually can't hear them very well with all the tools in your mouth!

I love this place. Staffs are sooo nice and professional. Clean place too. I love Tonya and Mark, very helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Hoopes so nice too and very helpful and knowledgeable. Even polish my tooth that was stained even not in my treatment plan. Thank you so much!!! Will definitely come back here again and refer/recommend to my friends and families.

I'm going to start off by saying that I had not been to the dentist in 16yrs. Mostly due to financials and horrible previous experience. Johnson Ranch Family Dentistry however has made me so comfortable coming back to the dentist. Patty and Serge are wonderful, Amanda and tawnya, have the best bedside manner, Dr hoopes and Chelsea are amazing and talk me through everything. Definitely love this place, they have helped me feel confident in my smile again.

I have only positive things to share about Johnson Ranch Family Dental. I was lucky enough to be able to be an intern here with Dr. Hoopes, and his amazing assistants. The atmosphere is so positive, and they treat their patients like family. This is the place to be!! If you need any treatment, I highly recommend them to any and everybody!!

I had a painful dental emergency and had not been to Johnson Ranch Family Dentistry before. Even though the dentist was out of town briefly, they set-up a prescription for me. They had me come in before posted hours at 7:20 to address my concerns. After initial consultation and examination they squeezed me in for another appointment later the same day to perform an extraction, graft and membrane application. Amazing amount of assistance on day 1. Prescriptions promptly called in. Complicated dental situations thoroughly and clearly explained. They located my dental insurance using my social security number. I couldn't have asked for more immediate, caring, understanding, proactive treatment from a dental office who had never seen me before. They assisted in turning my frown upside down. Funny: my second appointment was scheduled for 2:30 ("tooth hurty")!

Cindy and Dr. Hoopes are great. Wonderful bed side manner. I had an upper molar extracted, and bone graft done in preparation of an implant down the road. It was painless which surprised me. They are very understanding of working out a treatment plan to make it more affordable for me.
