A Buckley, WA native, Dr. James Johnson loves helping friends and neighbors develop and maintain optimal oral health and great smiles. Focusing on each persons specific dental concerns, Dr. Johnson encourages patients to discuss their goals and works with them to develop a custom treatment approach to reach those goals.

Dr. Johnson is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington, School of Dentistry, where he teaches a class in Restorative Dentistry. He stays current on developments in technology and techniques through participation in dental study clubs, as well as attending conferences and lectures. He loves helping develop the future of his profession as well as staying on top of the latest trends in modern dentistry.

The field of dentistry is quickly changing, with new techniques and technologies that have greatly improved the patient experience. Dr. Johnson has brought many of those techniques and technologies to our office, using leading-edge, painless proceduresto help patients attain a healthy mouth and smile.

Dr. Johnsons roots run deep in our local community. He was the fourth generation in his family to graduate from Buckleys White River High School. Dr. Johnson attended Pacific Lutheran University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry. From there he went on to study at the University of Washington, School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS).

When hes not treating patients or teaching dental students, Dr. Johnson can be found with his wifeand high school sweetheart Margy, and their son. He also enjoys snowboarding, kiteboarding, and travel.

Originally from the Chicago area (Naperville, IL),Dr. Petrarca is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, where she obtained aBachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and then earned herDoctorof Dental Surgery. This realized her lifelong dream. She says, Believe it or not, Ive wanted to be a dentist since I was 5 years old!

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Petrarca practiced dentistry in San Diego, CA, where she met her boyfriend, a Washington native. She isdelighted to work in Enumclaw, where she can build relationships with patients and be a part of the community.

Dr. Petrarca loves working with her hands and educating patients to help them improve their oral health. She enjoys helping people overcome their fear of the dentist. She says, 'I treat every patient like I would treat a member of my family.'

Modern dentistry is changing quickly and Dr. Petrarca loves keeping up to date on the latest technologies and techniques. She would even love to get into teaching at some point in her career. What she loves most about dentistry is building lasting relationships with her patients and helping them create and maintain smiles that they can be proud of.

Dr. Petrarca has experience practicing in multiple areas of dentistry, including private practice, community health centers, and non-profit organizations. She is a part of a service group that travels to Africa to provide free dental care. Most recently, in November 2018, she traveled to Africa to provide dental care to rural communities in Uganda.

We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.

Interacting with our patients is the highlight of my day. I enjoy helping people get the dental care they need when they need it. Working individually with patients I help them understand and make the most of their insurance benefits.I handle their insurance claims and the associated paperwork, and Ioversee patient accounts.

My husband Keith and I have been married for more than 35 years. Hes a building contractor. We have three adult children and eight grandkids who call me Mema. Our favorite times are with our grandchildren. We enjoy serving our community through our church, Calvary Presbyterian.

Working with a great team who come together to make sure our patients are smiling is rewarding. I wear a lot of hats in our office, all focused on making everything run smoothly. I greet and check patients in and out, handle scheduling, recall reminders, and updating patient records.

Our patients feel like a part of my family. Its fun to watch the children grow up, hear about marriages and births, and celebrate achievements. I oversee the general flow and organization of our practice, and ensureeverything moves smoothly so everyone can focus on whats important: our patients! I cover all aspects of the front desk, answer the phones, and schedule visits. I also help patients make the most of their insurance benefits and review financing.

Im happily married with three children. I love watching my sons play baseball, and watching and supporting my daughter who rides and shows cutting horses. As a family, we enjoy skiing, hunting, camping, and LOTS of baseball!

Working individually with our patients is a joy. I love our conversations and what I learn from each person. As we talk about their life and hobbies, I gain insight into areas where they can make changes to improve their dental health. While Im cleaning teeth, taking X-rays, and performing periodontal maintenance, I educate my patients. I focus on changing habits, improving home dental hygiene routines, and making healthy decisions.

One of the best parts of my job is developing relationships with our patients. It is always fun to meet newpeople and get to know them, and it is just as enjoyable to strengthen friendships with established patients. Often, duringvisits we catch up on the latest news aboutfamilies and activities. While I clean teeth, I educate patients about dental hygiene and changes they can make to keep their teeth and smile in excellent shape.

Watching a patient develop a healthier mouth and smile is a great experience. When people havegood dental health their body is healthier, and when they have a healthy smile they feel more confident and better about themselves. I performthorough dental cleanings and treat gum diseases, as well as assist with anesthesia. While Im caring for patients I teach them about dental hygiene and the best way to keep their mouth and smile clean, healthy, and beautiful.

My beautiful wife Karen, who is also a dental hygienist, and I have been married for more than 30 years. We have a married daughter, twin sons, and a thirdson as well. Karen and I love hiking with family and friends. I enjoygolf, tennis, and singing.

We have the best patients. Each of them has interesting stories to share and I love when they talk about their families and lives. Because we care for patients of all ages my day is varied and wonderful. I help our patients keep their mouth and smile healthy and bright. By focusing on preventing dental disease and educating each patient aboutspecific dental issues, Im able to help eachperson attain optimal oral health and a great smile.

Every day I meet interesting new people and renew friendships with patients Ive seen before. Our conversations make the hours fly by as we talk and laugh together. Learning about a patients life and hobbies helps me understand their home dental hygiene routine and where they can improve. While cleaning a patients teeth I talk about their oral health and the best ways to keep their smile healthy and bright.

My mission is to make sure patients feel comfortable and safe during their visits. I want them to know I am listening to them, Im here to provide support and reassurance, and I can help them understand that we offer painless care. I work directly with patients, and preparethem to see the doctor. I explain what well be doing and what to expect, and then sit chairside, to support themand the doctor. At the end of a procedure, I offer post-op instructions and answer thepatients questions.

I make sure every patient knows theyre in a safe place and ensure they are comfortable during their visit. Even the most worried person soon learns that we really do provide painless dental care, so they relax and actually look forward to visits! I prepare patients for procedures, makesure theyre comfy in the chair, and talkabout what the doctor will be doing. Then I provide supportbyhelping the doctor while keeping our patient updated on how everythings going.

Making our patients feel comfortable and valued during their visits is important. Our doctors and team are all committed to making this happen, because we genuinely care about people. I enjoy caring for friends and neighbors, helping them with their smiles. I provide chairside assistance with dental and orthodontic procedures. I also order office supplies and help with scheduling.

Its a great feeling to work with my friends, all of us focused on improving our patients lives and oral health. Visiting with patients is always enjoyable. They really are some of the most interesting people! I help patients during their visits, preparing them for procedures and explaining what the doctor will do. Then I provide assistance, supporting the doctor and patient. I also assist our hygiene team, sterilize equipment, handle lab work, and scheduling.

The front desk was very kind and thorough. Gave me my appts already priced out with total cost without my asking. Grace is the one who assisted me with my cleaning. I discloused some of my past hygiene habits and expressed i was embarrassed about it. She was very kind, understanding, honest and very encouraging. (Talking me through the numbing shot, i.e. giving me breathing exercises). shes funny, too! By far the best, most comfortable dentist appt. experience i have ever had in my life.

It's always a pleasure to see my hygienist. Everyone is so kind, helpful, patient, & caring. They're also very good at their jobs. I was surprised to learn that Dr. Johnson has sold his practice. I was very happy to know that everyone else is staying, Dr. Gina Petrarca, the hygienists, assistants, all the great staff. It was a pleasure to meet the new Dentist, who bought the practice, Dr. Sean Monaghan. Very kind, caring, intelligent, great Dentist & he has a wonderful sense of humor. I don't know when they'll change the sign.

I am so grateful for Dr. Johnson and his dental team. My son had a dental accident when he was young and developed a fear of going to the dentist. Over the years, Dr. Johnson has eased his fears and gained his trust. Dr. Johnson's dental work is exceptional. We are lucky to have such a great dentist in our community!

Made an appt yesterday over the phone telling the receptionist I had a swollen moler & in alot of pain, couldn't take another day of this. Specifically asked if they accept my insurance & told they DO after calling an entire list of local dentists they were the only ones. Walked accross town 2 miles in the snow just to be told by another receptionist that they DO NOT accept my insurance! Completely wasted my morning & still in severe pain. I should have read more of the negative reviews on this place! Receptionists are not well informed on insurance agencies they use.

Had a root canal worked on there, not once, but twice (same tooth). Fast forward a few years, and the root canal still was done improperly! So on top of all the money that I had to waste with them, I have to go somewhere else and drop a bunch more. I don't know if its incompetence and greed, but I'm glad I won't be working with them again.

I love this place! Everyone is so nice and they always greet you by name when you come in. On several occasions I needed work that they couldn't do and they did all the work finding the right person to take over my case. Andrea is amazing up front and very knowledgeable. Have referred several people to this office! They make going to the dentist pleasurable!

Worst experience ever. Needed a toothache looked at a day before vacation. They did get me In but the dentist that treated me was pathetic. He never introduce himself and couldn't tell if it was tooth # 18 or 19. He then told the dental aide to explain my options. I needed some pain relief and or antibiotics to hold me over until I could get referred to a specialist. No help from whomever Dr Johnson hired. The staff did get me an appointment on July 7, guess I will have to live with the toothache until then. Guess I will search for another dentist. Complete waste of time.
