We began as La Cumbre Dental in 1963 with Dr. Gary Johnson Sr. In 2001, Dr. Steven Johnson purchased his fathers practice and renamed it Johnson Family Dental. Since then we have grown with two additional offices in Ventura and Solvang. This year we area celebrating our 50th anniversary and could not be more proud and humbled to be serving the Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Dr D. left for Bakersfield, and he was a fabulous dentist. Our office in Port Hueneme closed and it has been difficult scheduling cleanings for our family. Quoted an amount for a crown in writing, then the day of the procedure said the amount was over $100 more. Actually argued with my insurance company about it over the phone (Even though a third party actually checks the benefits). Their rates are over what is reasonable and customary so you will pay even with good insurance for children's cleanings.

I recently got braces at Johnson family dental. If you've ever had braces you know How annoying it can be. Dr.S And her assistant Chary Explored every option and came up with the best solution for my individual needs . I would highly recommend Johnson family dental. And I'm not sure what Jenn's job is, But she was always very nice to me

They're decent If you're just going to them for a cleaning. However, if you need fillings or any surgical dental work done STAY AWAY. They're sloppy and it's not just one dentist. I had to go get my filling fixed twice after one of their dentists made a mistake. I got my wisdom teeth removed and working with them through the insurance process was just a headache. Fortunately, my insurance was more supportive and helpful than Johnson Family Dental. After 5 months of this dentist office trying to screw me out of over $1000, they finally agreed to cooperate with my insurance. Always double check your statements, because they're just trying to get money from whoever will give it to them.

I was a passenger in a car crash that i almost died in. I lost 4 teeth. I went to Johnson family dental. They took off 4 of my top teeth they glued them back on as a bridge. The bottom teeth they took off 6 teeth they glued them back on. They were supposed to be permanent teeth. Now my teeth fell off and broke. Over $15,000 spent. They dont want to fix them. Warranty expired. Worst dentist ever dont go.

I've never liked going to the dentist, and they always make me feel comfortable and well taken care of. Dr. Luke is amazing, he is personable, listens to my questions and concerns, takes his time, and makes me feel heard. It's so nice to have a provider that doesn't just make you feel like another patient, but talks to you like a human. The hygienist is amazing, and so are the rest of the staff. I'll never go to another dentist.

I am very disappointed with this place. The work that they do is reasonably good, although expensive. What really discourages me is how very bad they are about returning calls. They are about the worst that I have seen .

Excellent, professional, and friendly service! I was treated like a QUEEN and more. I usually go to their office in Santa Barbara, but do to illness and not able to drive too far, I was asked if i would mind going to their office in Ventura. I am very glad my decision to complete my visit in Ventura. My husband is also in need to make an appointment. Would like to thank Dr. Luke and Stephanie for their personal service regarding my partials. Most people hate to go to their dentist, well going to Johnson Family Dental is different. Thank you!!

I chose family Dental because of the location. It was a great choice. I get notifications just before my appointment time, waiting times are very short, and this visit they offered a mouth cancer scan. Very simple procedure. My visit was for a cleaning but I got xrays and a Dr.s visit. All to make sure of my dental health and no out of pocket expenses. Thank you Family Dental and the staff that takes care of me.
