We began as La Cumbre Dental in 1963 with Dr. Gary Johnson Sr. In 2001, Dr. Steven Johnson purchased his fathers practice and renamed it Johnson Family Dental. Since then we have grown with two additional offices in Ventura and Solvang. This year we area celebrating our 50th anniversary and could not be more proud and humbled to be serving the Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
Our mission at Johnson Family Dental is to change, enrich and improve peoples lives by providing quality, general and cosmetic dentistry. We provide a gentle and compassionate environment, with outstanding service and excellent value, because A Smile Can change Your Life!

It had been 4 years since going to the dentist and it will be another 4 after going to see these folks. Being autistic is very hard and these folks DONT MAKE IT ANY EASIER. AVOID AVOID AVOID. One of the WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCES EVER. They didn't even clean my teeth! Left in more pain, and more confusion then when I came.

Great customer service at the front desk and Dr. Sugimoto was very informative about all the details before pulling my tooth. She was very gentle and skilled in extracting my tooth.

I've been unhappy with my teeth for years and always fearing dentistry. I finally bit the bullet and went to Johnson Family Dental. Jackpot!!! Dr. Truong and the staff are wonderful! I'm having my teeth capped, which takes several steps. Each office visit has been easy, almost fun. Today I got my permanant caps and my teeth are BEAUTIFUL!!! I've been showing them off all day. Now, I'm not embarrassed to smile. I highly recommend Johnson Family Dental on Santa Rosa Rd. in Camarillo. Stop putting off your needed dental work, you'll be so happy here. They also offer financial plans to work with your budget. A++++++ Update: My teeth are finished! They are beautiful! I feel so confident in my smile! For the first time in years, I like to smile and find myself smiling at everyone I see. Thank you Johnson Family Dental!!!! UPDATE: I just had another great visit with Johnson Family Dental. I got my teeth cleaned by Stephanie. It was so fun, we had a great conversation and I feel like we're now friends. Shout out to The doctor/dentist, Amy and Bebe, who are always helpful, in a good mood. Another shout out to the ENTIRE STAFF!!! I'm remembered by name, treated with respect, for the continued professionalism and friendliness. I FOUND THE RIGHT DENTIST, AND EMPLOYEES!!!! WHEEEEE!

They take all necessary COVID precautions, I feel completely safe there. The staff is efficient and friendly. Michelle is the best. I highly recommend this office.

This was a disappointing visit. I had bone grafting done a while back in one area where a tooth was pulled (this was a bridge at the time and had to be removed) to prepare for implants. I asked then if bone grafting should be done in the area where the tooth had been gone a while. I was told it was not an issue. Well, after a couple of months I just had a Bone CT Scan done, and lo and behold I now have to see a specialist because the area where the tooth has been missing doesn't have enough bone for the implant. I would think they would have known this in advance. Needless to say, I am not too happy at this time.

Not a good organization, extremely misleading when it comes to treatment plan and final price. I had several treatments done and I was told that I would only have to pay a certain amount (which I paid) and the insurance would cover the rest. At the time they did not tell me the correct price and a now (more than a year later) they are saying I owe them more because my insurance has paid their full amount. If that is the case why wouldn't they have calculated that into the final price and tell me to pay that in the initial payment or not wait a year to tell me. I will never go back here and recommend finding a dentist office that calculates the accurate amount you will have to pay rather than making big mistakes.

today was my second visit in less than a week at Johnson Family Dental in Camarillo. I had just recently lost a crown right in front and I was able to get right in to see Dr. Sugimoto and her assistant Lisa the very next afternoon.. I was amazed when I was able to get an appointment for that very next day and already my temporary crown awaited me. Lisa is a compliment. to Dr. Sugimoto keeping things moving right along and her sense of humor did not escape me. Johnson Family Dental did treat me like family.

Simply amazing. All staff are kind and professional. They know what they are doing! My prior dentist did sloppy work on me and neglected other areas. Johnson Family Dental took my case without a second thought and fixed me within twi months (would have been one if it weren't for the holidays). Thank you for helping me get my oral health back on track!

I walked out after waiting 90 min in the chair for the dentist. Her excuse was that she needed to get to know me better because the original doctor wasn't there today....Why would they schedule an appointment for a crown to be done if my doctor is scheduled off? They disrespected me by wasted my time and didn't even care.
