In addition to offering a number of in-officepayment optionsto fit your budget, we also give you up-front cost information on your treatment ahead of time. We are in-network with a variety of insurance plans, and we offer various forms of dental financing with credit available in time frames that fit your needs. We are happy to help you navigate yourdental insuranceand alternative payment options.
At Johnson County Dental Care, we are qualified to handle all aspects of your care, so you are always surrounded by people that you trust. If we must refer out, we promise to send you to carefully vetted colleagues who apply the same professional principles in their office that we do in ours.
We respect and understand that many patients experience dental anxiety. At our office, we do everything we can to make sure that your experience is as enjoyable as possible. By communicating clearly what you can expect during your treatment, we are often able to alleviate dental fear. We encourage you to bring headphones and music to listen to during your treatment and ask us about dental sedation options.
For over 20 years, Dr. Lisa has been delivering outstanding dental care to patients in her local community. A native of Kansas City, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas, where she majored in Human Development. After graduating from UMKC School of Dentistry in 1994, she completed a general practice residency at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Lisa is the Clinical Director for theDental Hygiene Program at Concorde Career College in Kansas City, MO. She has been in private practice in Johnson County since 1994.
Outreach and charitable activities provide a much valued personal connection to our community. Dr. Lisa serves on the Board of Directors for the REACH Healthcare Foundation and is proud to serve as an advocate for the underserved and works to provide support for policy to promote health.
Due to her years of service to organized dentistry and community involvement, Dr. Lisa was awarded the honor of Dentist of the Year by the Fifth District Dental Society of Kansas in 2008. In 2014, Dr. Lisa was the recipient of a Golden Apple Award as well as the ExcellenceInEducation Award for her dedication to the students in the Dental Hygiene Program at Concorde Career College. In 2017, Dr. Lisa was awarded the honor of being named a fellow to the American College of Dentists.The ACD is the oldest major honorary organization for dentists. Its members have exemplified excellence through outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to dentistry and society.
Our staff is uniquely trained and highly skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and multiple certifications, and each one of our team members has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

I was nervous about not having my teeth cleaned for years and was experiencing a toothache so I decided to visit this office. I had the best time because Meg was so kind, positive, knowledgeable, and understanding! I've had bad painful experiences with fillings growing up but here I couldn't feel a thing. Unfortunately I just moved out of state but I highly encourage everyone to visit this warm and welcoming place.

I've only been to Johnson County Dental Care twice so far, first for a cleaning. Meg provided thorough care, had a positive attitude, and made me feel incredibly comfortable! I absolutely second the first review saying to ask for Meg. My second procedure was a simple filling; however, I was still very anxious as numbing agents don't always work well on me and I am accustomed to experiencing pain during fillings, and I typically experience extended sensitivity in my teeth after having work done. Dr. Todd listened to my concerns during the procedure and provided enough anesthetic to give me what was one of the first truly stress-free fillings I've ever experienced! Plus, I have experienced no tooth sensitivity whatsoever after the first 24 hours! I am very impressed by my first two experiences at this office and am relieved to have an office that can assist in my dental health with both kindness and skill.

Everyone here is so calming and takes their time explaining each procedure they are doing. I have medical issues with my jaw and they are able to work around my comfort level and jaw mobility. I also have severely sensitive teeth along with the jaw issues, and after taking advice they have given, I feel like I have a whole new mouth. My son goes here as well and even as a kid, he has no complaints or worries about going to the dentist. I sincerely, highly, 100% recommend coming here, especially if you have any insecurities or anxiety regarding dental visits. Thanks so much to everyone on the team!

Fortunately or unfortunately, I've lived all over the US, and Europe and Mexico as well. I've never had better, more efficient, or even creative care for my mouth and person than with Dr. Thurlow. I cannot recommend him and his team highly enough. Period.
