Dr. Monte Collins was described once in an orthodontic journal as the Thinker. He is constantly searching for a better way. This is why our office is always changing, growing and searching the world for the best solutions to orthodontic problems. This is also why he is a highly recognized clinical assistant professor in the Orthodontic Department at Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Dallas. A Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, he is also the recipient of awards from the American Association of Orthodontists, the Dr. Tom Mathews Award and the Robert E. Gaylord Award. While teaching, Dr. Collins both lectures and has clinical patients with the young doctors in their three year post graduate residency in orthodontics.
He is the author of several articles in orthodontic journals ranging from microscopic analysis of the cellular effects of accelerated tooth movement, to interesting case reports of unique approaches to treatment. Never satisfied with the status quo, Dr. Collins has designed and patented a new orthodontic appliance system that allows orthodontists to customize every bracket for every patient utilizing advanced imaging algorithms and 3D printing technology. There are two other advanced patents in the works regarding this approach to treatment as well. Along these lines, he serves in an advisory capacity to Ormco, the largest manufacturer of brackets in the USA as a member of their Insiders group.
Professional accomplishments are great, but taking care of people is the greatest and highest of privileges. It fills our heart with joy, especially when it helps those in need. In this regard, we are proud members of the Smile For A Lifetime Foundation to help local children. In addition, Dr. Collins is a volunteer at Clinica Esperanza in Roatan, Honduras where he has a group of children undergoing orthodontic treatment. He along with Ormco donate all the equipment and supplies and he works in the clinic several times a year to provide their care.
A lifelong resident of northeast Tarrant County he attended L.D. Bell High School and married his high school sweetheart, Lynn. Their oldest son Blake is a computer scientist and engineer and lives in Dallas. Their younger son Brent and his lovely wife Erin live in San Antonio where he attends the UT San Antonio Dental School.

I enjoyed the first , excellent bed side manners, Dr Collins was tired at the end of the day but took the time to explain things in a manner that my 16 year old could understand.

I really should've written this review two years ago. For any of you and Southlake that are shocked at the amount of dentists that don't take your insurance I highly recommend you check with Drs Johnson and Collins. I literally saved myself over $2000 for my daughters braces. I'm only paying $2000 (instead of $4500) because many Orthodonist do not take my insurance and Southlake. I have Delta dental. It's like a best kept secret! The fact they are located in Southlake Town Square makes them seem elitist but they aren't. They are so down to earth and customer-fixed that's it's unbelievable. I have my second kid in braces now and I realized I never wrote a review for them. I highly recommend you compare them to where you think you have to go and you don't be sorry. I cannot over state how much I recommend them. Update: April 2021 my first kid just got her braces off and looks amazing. Now I'm working on my second kid. I highly highly recommend them. This is as good as it gets.

Today we had our initial consultation and we couldn't be happier with the customer service we received. The ladies at the front desk were very warm and helpful. Priscilla was super kind and visited with us through the process. Dr Collins was so patient and gentle with my child and explained everything very thoroughly. My child even felt comfortable asking questions. We've been shopping around and getting different quotes. We have found our place that we trust for our orthodontic treatment. Other places have made us feel rushed like we are just a number but today we felt heard and valued as an individual. My son and I both agreed that we are most comfortable and at peace with this practice. Looking forward to doing business with y'all.

I love, love , love my smile!!! The staff at Johnson/Colins is exceptional! They treated me like family throughout my complete process with braces. Anytime I had issues with the wires or braces they would make room for me to get them checked out. Dr. Colins is one of the most thoughtful and kindest professionals I have had the privilege of knowing. He was always interested in how I felt my progress was going and welling to hear my feedback. When I asked a question he always took time to give a thorough answer and to make sure it made since to me. Liz was outstanding! I loved that she was carful about her work. She explained what I would be experiencing in detail which gave me peace and confidence that it was going to turn out better than I expected. She was amazing!! If you are looking for an orthodontist that is personable, fun and picky about getting your smile better than you could imagine you should choose Monte Colins! The Bonus is you also get the Incredible staff at Johnson/Colins!

Cannot say enough GREAT things about Dr. Collins and his staff! The ladies in the reception area are so kind:) I have 4 boys...2 of them have already completed phase 1...I just finished Invisalign. Truly do not have a negative word to share. JOY exudes from their office...best decision we ever made as a family regarding our dental health is to use Dr. Collins in Southlake.
