Dr. Monte Collins was described once in an orthodontic journal as the Thinker. He is constantly searching for a better way. This is why our office is always changing, growing and searching the world for the best solutions to orthodontic problems. This is also why he is a highly recognized clinical assistant professor in the Orthodontic Department at Texas A&M University Health Science Center in Dallas. A Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, he is also the recipient of awards from the American Association of Orthodontists, the Dr. Tom Mathews Award and the Robert E. Gaylord Award. While teaching, Dr. Collins both lectures and has clinical patients with the young doctors in their three year post graduate residency in orthodontics.
He is the author of several articles in orthodontic journals ranging from microscopic analysis of the cellular effects of accelerated tooth movement, to interesting case reports of unique approaches to treatment. Never satisfied with the status quo, Dr. Collins has designed and patented a new orthodontic appliance system that allows orthodontists to customize every bracket for every patient utilizing advanced imaging algorithms and 3D printing technology. There are two other advanced patents in the works regarding this approach to treatment as well. Along these lines, he serves in an advisory capacity to Ormco, the largest manufacturer of brackets in the USA as a member of their Insiders group.
Professional accomplishments are great, but taking care of people is the greatest and highest of privileges. It fills our heart with joy, especially when it helps those in need. In this regard, we are proud members of the Smile For A Lifetime Foundation to help local children. In addition, Dr. Collins is a volunteer at Clinica Esperanza in Roatan, Honduras where he has a group of children undergoing orthodontic treatment. He along with Ormco donate all the equipment and supplies and he works in the clinic several times a year to provide their care.
A lifelong resident of northeast Tarrant County he attended L.D. Bell High School and married his high school sweetheart, Lynn. Their oldest son Blake is a computer scientist and engineer and lives in Dallas. Their younger son Brent and his lovely wife Erin live in San Antonio where he attends the UT San Antonio Dental School.

Arrived for my consultation appointment only for the door to be locked. Heard a few ladies chatting it up inside so I called and was hung up on. After staring at the phone in shock I called back only to go straight to voicemail. Waited an additional 15 minutes no one came to the door. Unprofessional.

I got my braces removed today and I'am extremely pleased with my results!!! They made me feel comfortable beginning to end. I highly recommend!!!

I highly recommend Johnson & Collins Orthodontics! Dr. G and his Coppell staff is awesome! I was a patient several years ago and had a great experience. When my son needed braces there was no doubt where he would go for care. The office environment is comfortable and inviting. Dr G is very pleasant and communicates clearly what is going on in each stage of progress. His staff is very cheerful and seems to enjoy what they do. My experience as a patient and mother of a patient....entry to exit you are given the 5 treatment plan! Thanks Dr G!

We are very disappointed in their services. We were not told that our bill was an out of insurance network. Usually, when we go to any medical professional, they take our card and tell us if we are in the network or not. They never did this. We came to this service because of a family member's recommendation. 100% will not recommend.

Dr. Johnson, Dr. Collins, and their staff are all incredible and very accommodating. I finished treatment (which included jaw surgery during the time) in under a year-and-a-half. Beat that!

Love Johnson & Collins in Coppell. I have two kids. My first used another ortho. Had a nice result, teeth straight etc. Got the job done but not AMAZING, which is what you want (though we did not realize it at the time). And treatment took too long- well past the prescribed time frame. Instead, my daughter went to Johnson & Collins as she initially pushed to go to the same ortho as her best friend. Initially, I was hesitant to switch and content to stay with our old ortho as we were ultimately "satisfied." But, I was blown away when Dr. Johnson did his consult with her. He showed me that they not only create a treatment plan to straighten teeth, but actually look at the overall facial features to create the most aesthetically appealing result by adjusting their teeth in such a way that is best suits the unique features of the face, smile etc. in my daughter's case, the curve of her teeth was too narrow for her very broad smile. It was noticeable but not unsightly in any way. Just a detail that I assumed was not correctable. Had he just straightened her teeth, she would have had large gaps of space between the outer edges of her mouth and her actual teeth. It would have looked nice when she smiled but not amazing. By accounting for the details of her broad smile, Dr. Johnson literally expanded the curve of her teeth to fit her mouth and the result is absolutely beautiful! Stunning smile that turns heads! So happy with the result. I HIGHLY recommend this practice. Dr. Johnson paid attention to the details, gave us the best possible result, was actually a bit cheaper than my son's ortho and the treatment was completed well within the prescribed time line. My daughter loves her Johnson & Collins smile!

My experience here before was good, just got a consultation, however the lady on the phone was very rude when trying to schedule an appointment. She had an attitude when trying to ask about the time they close. I was trying to figure out what the latest time i could get an oppointment.

OMG! This place in FAN-tastic! The staff is absolutely amazing, especially the new patient coordinator, Terry. They are just genuine good people that love what they do! Also, they really work with scheduling, and try their best to fit your schedule. Also, I took my little girl with me once, and they were so SWEET to her and really goofy with her. That always makes it more pleasant. I WILL be taking the rest of my family here, no doubt!

Friendly staff, financial services, & phenomenal orthodontists! As a current recipient of the Damon system braces treatment, I am thrilled with the results that I've seen. Great value on braces all around, and they cooperate on treatment plans with my local dentist, Dr. Scott Alexander, DDS. (Who is also an amazing dentist, check him out!)
