Born in Tennessee and raised in Lometa, Texas, I moved to Austin in 1972. While working as a dental assistant, I found that I truly enjoyed helping others, seeing patients feel better about their appearance, and watching their overall health improve as their oral health improved.
In 1990, I began my education at the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio, which was rated the best dental school in the nation by U.S. News and World Report in 1993. I graduated cum laude in 1994, and received a special commendation noting my consistently superior performance and uncommon dedication.
