John Yancey, DDS, is a native of Lake County, growing up in Lake Villa and Libertyville, Illinois. He graduated from Carmel High School and St. Joseph's College in Indiana, and worked as a biochemist for Abbott Laboratories for several years before enrolling in the University of Illinois Dental School. He graduated in 1984 and completed a residency at Lincoln Medical Center in New York City, where he received additional advanced training in all phases of dentistry.
For the past 25 years, Dr. Yancey has provided exceptional dental care to his patients. He has in-depth experience in implantology and cosmetic dentistry and keeps current in the advances in dental techniques and materials. With the philosophy that dentistry is a partnership, Dr. Yancey educates his patients on the best oral care available, allowing them to achieve optimal dental health. He believes that improving a patient's smile through cosmetic dentistry has a positive impact on self confidence and overall appearance. Through his involvement in Rotary International, of which he has been a member for over 20 years, Dr. Yancey has volunteered his time practicing his dental craft as a member for two international health care projects in Nepal and Guatemala.
Outside the office, Dr. Yancey serves on his local community governing board. He is a member of a rock and roll band and spends most of his free time enjoying the out-of-doors with his wife and three children.
Leesa, our registered dental hygienist, is a wonderful asset to our team. She graduated from Harper College with academic excellence. Leesa has worked in dentistry since 1986, first as a dental assistant then a dental hygienist. She has worked with Dr. Mazeski since 2000 and loves his philosophy toward dentistry. Her most rewarding moments as a dental hygienist are when she is able to educate and encourage patients to achieve optimum oral health as well as an overall physical well being. Leesa is married and has five children, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and just being a mom.
