Welcome to the Family Practice of Dr. John Wasniewski III, DMD, your Newark - Pike Creek - Hockessin area Family Dental Office. We are excited to create a long-lasting relationship with you and your family while providing excellent dental care.

Open in the Summer of 2015, Dr. Wasniewski's Office provides State-of-the-Art, high quality dentistry. We treat all of our patients with the compassion, dignity, and respect that everyone deserves, all in a relaxing and laid-back environment.

In September 2018, Dr. John acquired the Fox Run Shopping Center location in Bear on Route 40. Dr. John has been an associate dentist there since 2009. He and the retained staff will continue to serve the patients at this location with the same high standard of care.

Dr. John Wasniewski III, DMD has been a licensed Dentist in Delaware since 2008. He owns and operates offices in Newark DE and in Bear DE. His practice philosophy is to treat every one of his patients as if they were a member of his family. Dr. John bases the foundation of his practice on honesty, integrity, and compassion.

At our offices, we believe that regular preventive care is the most effective way to maintain good oral health and overall wellness. Dr. John and his staff are trained in the latest modern dental procedures and they will ensure that you receive the best care possible.

Dr. John is a native of Wilmington and grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Archmere Academy Class of 1999. He earned a BS in Chemistry from theUniversity of Delaware in 2003 and his DMD degree from Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2007. After graduation, he completed an additional year of training in general and hospital dentistry through the General Practice Residency at Christiana Care. Dr. John is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Delaware State Dental Society. Additionally, Dr. John is on staff at Connections Community Support Programs where he helps under served populations in the community and in the Delaware Correctional Facilities (Howard R. Young Correctional Institution).

Dr. John and his wife have two young sons ages 4 and 9. When he is not at the office he enjoys playing guitar, watching Philadelphia professional sports, fishing, golfing, and playing tennis. He loves to vacation with his family in Marco Island, Florida or the Bahamas.

Dr. Sheena Sikka is a native of the Washington, DC area, and is excited to join the Delaware community! She knew at a young age that she wanted to be a dentist who could transform peoples confidence. Dr. Sikka wishes to not only help her patients have a lifelong smile, but also strives to learn and to improve patient's overall health.

Dr. Sikka graduated from New York University with a BA in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Business in 2013. She then received a two-year Intramural Research Training Award from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD to conduct dental research and present at various national research conferences. Next, she earned her DDS at University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she received an Endodontics Clerkship Award and the Student Achievement Award 2020 from the AmericanAssociation of Endodontics.

She further completed additional hospital training through the General Practice Residency at ChristianaCare Hospital in Wilmington, DE. During her educational career, she became an author on the 3 publications in various dental research topics, and is a member of the American Association of Dental Research, American Association of Endodontics, American Academy of General Dentistry and the Delaware State Dental Society.

Danielle 'Dani' is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated top of her class at Delaware Technical and Community College. Danielle has a gentle touch and a caring attitude. She provides top quality care for each of our patients. She is currently seeking her Masters degree as well.

Roseann is our cheerful office coordinator who is well versed in insurance, procedures, scheduling, and billing. If you have any questions or concerns about scheduling or your account, Roseann will gladly assist you.

Jessica Muller RDH Jessica joined the practice in 2019. She is a recent graduate of DTCC who has excelled in her clinical studies. She is committed to providing top notch care for her patients' oral health.

Nicole Chan Nicole is our office manager and insurance billing coordinator. If you have questions regarding your coverage and benefits, Nicole is there to assist you. In her free time she likes to practice karate with her daughter.

We are proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Matthew Gawlas DMD, our new associate for the Bear location on Mondays and Wednesdays. A native of central Pennsylvania, Dr. 'G' graduated from Temple University in 2013 and operated a successful private practice in Arvada, Colorado for five years. Family obligations have brought him back to the area, and he is a perfect fit for our practice.

Sherrie Wissler Sherrie is our office manager and has been working in the dental field for over 30 years. She started her career as a CDA and transitioned to our office in 2001. Overseeing the daily office operations and making sure that every patient has a positive experience are her goals! In her free time Sherrie enjoys boating, fishing and trips to Florida with her family.

Kathy Cavanaugh RDH Graduate of West Virginia University in 1983 with a BS in dental hygiene, Kathy has been working at our practice for 27 years. Helping our patients achieve optimum oral health is her top priority. In her spare time Kathy enjoys reading, golfing, and travelling.

Jessica Janowski RDH Jessica is an experienced hygienist with great clinical knowledge. She graduated in 2004 and has enjoyed working at the practice since. She is very caring and always has a welcoming smile. When she is not at the office she enjoys traveling with her husband, friends, and family. They welcomed a son in summer 2021.

Maureen Garyantes RDH Maureen graduated from Temple University in 1985. She received her BS from West Chester University in 1995. She has been with our practice for 17 years. Maureen 's main goal is to provide exceptional patient care, treating the 'whole patient.' She strives to make the dental experience a positive one. When not chatting with you she keeps busy with her family travelling and attending sporting events.

Julie Queen CDA 'Jul' started at the practice as a co-op in high school and became a Certified Dental Assistant after graduating in 2003. She is vital to the office by making sure everything works smoothly for rotation. This includes keeping records up to OSHA codes and efficiently keeping the office maintained and stocked with supplies.

Tina Tessein Tina is our Doctor's scheduling coordinator. She has been in the dental field for 25 years and is a former assistant. She enjoys travelling to the beach with her family. Her motto is 'service with a smile.'
