Dr. John Sinclair, DDS has been in practice for over 22 years and has a dental office in Petaluma, CA. He is a graduate of the award winning dental program at University California San Francisco. He was chosen from a large pool of candidates for the honor to not only to attend but complete all his dental training at this prestigious university. This is a rare accomplishment in the industry and in 1989 he completed his training and began his practice.
John began his professional career as a social worker. Here he worked closely with special needs children for over 10 years where he credits developing the beginning of his warm, calming chair-side manner. He wished to expand his education and shift his direction and coincidentally was getting a lot of dental work himself at the time. He formed a close friendship with his dentist and became instantly fascinated by all aspects of the industry especially the idea of caring for the health and well-being of patients. He decided to begin his new career immediately. This was truly an inspired and very natural transition for John as he had found an industry that would allow him to keep working one-on-one with people, get to know and create lasting relationships and take good care of them.
John is dedicated to his on-going education in the latest improvements and technologies within the dental industry and is a proud member of; The American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Redwood Empire Dental Society, Academy of Laser Dentistry, Organization for safety and Asepsis Procedures, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is an active participant in the Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce and a member in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.
Outside the office John enjoys hiking and camping at the Redwoods and Yosemite and devotes time to The Sonoma Country Trail Council working toward keeping walking and hiking trails safe and up-kept for everyone to enjoy. He has been here in Sonoma County since 1990 and lives with his wife Cindy, a psychotherapist and their two children; Aislinn, a student at UC Berkeley and Brendan who studies at the SRJC.
