I have been a patient of Dr. John T. Zaffer's for many years. He is concerned about his patient's dental health and is compassionate. He explains the procedure you may need and his services are reasonably priced. His staff is also great and very knowledgeable.. Laura at the front desk can also explain the procedures which I find extremely helpful. They work with many insurance companies. I highly recommend him and give him a 5 star rating.

Recently went in for a deep cleaning and received excellent service all around from the front staff, to the technician, to Dr. Zaffer himself. They also were very flexible with me as I needed to reschedule a few times. They also have weekend availability!

I'll begin by saying that Dr. Zaffer has always been a nice man and his staff was very good in my nearly 11 years as a patient of his. Unfortunately, I have recently had increasing concerns about Dr. Zaffer's abilities and judgment as a dentist. I have moved on to another dental facility and I have two family members who have left Dr. Zaffer after nearly three years with him. The main point of contention is simple: Dr. Zaffer does not stand behind his bridge and crown work. To elaborate, we've all had bridges made by Dr. Zaffer and all have failed within 3 years - in one case, less than a year. In all cases, decay and/or cavities developed on the underlying teeth which rendered the bridges unusable and necessitated, according to Dr. Zaffer, that new bridges be made. And at full or near full price... again. We've also had crowns that came loose in as little as 8 months. And a couple of times, instead of just replacing the crown, Dr. Zaffer opted for a much more expensive three tooth bridge - which necessitated the grinding down of two good teeth. It just didn't make sense, at least in my lay opinion. And since I'm not a dentist, I asked one about it. It is the opinion of my new dentist that the teeth involved in my failed bridge were not properly prepared for the bridge in the first place, resulting in unavoidable failure. Either some decay was missed on the underlying teeth before the bridge was put on, or there was a gap somewhere between the tooth/teeth and the bridge - or both. As for crowns falling out, it's a similar reason. The underlying tooth was not properly prepared to hold the cement to keep the crown affixed. I am beyond diligent in keeping my teeth clean and the fact that this happened to all three of us is a bit much to dismiss as coincidence or patient neglect. I know people who have bridges and crowns in their mouths that are 20-30 years old that are still just fine. I find Dr. Zaffer's claim that a bridge would need to be replaced after only a couple of years (or a crown coming uncemented after only 8 months) to be dubious. Ultimately, my advice would be - if possible, insist on a written guarantee from Dr. Zaffer for expensive dental work. Otherwise, you very likely will be charged twice for the same procedure, even if its failure is not your fault. Obviously, things like trauma or an individual patient's poor dental hygiene are out of Dr. Zaffer's control, but neither of those situations apply here. Additionally, Dr. Zaffer owns equipment that not only manufactures crowns, but up to three-tooth bridges as well. He should be lowering his prices since he no longer has to pay a lab for crowns and bridges. That should be another topic that prospective patients bring up with him before agreeing to an expensive procedure.

Dr Zaffer has been my dentist for over ten years, he is kind and always squeezes me in for appointments last minute. His staff is very friendly. His dental work is top notch. He also accepts my carrington insurance so I get discounted rates. Highly recommend using him.

I had a chipped molar and Dr. Zaffer took me on short notice on a Saturday. He has the state of the art technology to take 3-D photos of all one's teeth and to create a perfect shaped and perfect-fitting crown on the premises all in one visit. Friendly, professional, making use of state of the art dental technology. After one visit, Dr. Zaffer has gone from my emergency dentist to my regular dentist. Great location too! You look down on Main Street from the dental chair!

Biggest liar I ever met, charged me for work he never performed. Had a bridge done by him and for a year I was having so many problem with that bridge. Couldn't eat on that side either. After going to a specials, the specials told me the bridge is not places in property and there is a gap that allows food, liquid in. He suggested to get the whole thing redone as soon as possible. I had it redone, and my new dentist spend 4 hours getting the bridge off he had to cut off pieces by pieces that's how badly was sealed in. He was shocked, he said in my 25 years of career I have never experienced anything like this. Also ended up getting a root canal on one of those teeth bc Zaffer was careless and damaged my nerve. He also preped my tooth too much. Some dentist this guy is, I would never go to him again or recommend him to anyone. If he was a decent guy, he should have refund my money and apologized for his mistakes. I ended up spending thousands of money bc of him.

Was going there for a while and kept on going like a moron. He was always in a rush to get me out and did mediocre work. Went to get an extraction done yesterday and when they X-ray came out the oral surgeon told me that there was a gap on the crown he placed. I am going to have to get the whole thing re-done but lesson learned... I will be going elsewhere. Assistant was nice but would not recommend Dr. Zaffer.

1st Appointment I was a little early. Got there when receptionist did. She was slamming things all around. Very rude and loud. Had to wait 20 extra minutes past my appt. time for dental asst. She gets there and starts to take x rays, etc. I don't know which was worse, her pimply face or her smoke filled hands in my mouth. She was loud and obnoxious. I went there with a pain in my gums and needed a referral. Instead what I got was a homemade, two toned unnecessary 1/2 a cap on my back tooth. Both ugly and painful. No referral. 2nd appointment same receptionist, rude. Said "they weren't making any money off me". WOW. Should I have said sorry??? They still charged $2K for that half cap $300 out of pocket. Hygienist was very good and totally different way more professional dental assistant that day. Zaffer comes in and said I need another homemade crown on another tooth and I had a cavity up under another cap. "When can I come back?". LOL Is this guy kidding? You couldn't pay me to go back there. I still have the pain in my gums and have to go a periodontist on my own now. Thanks for NOTHING Zaffer.
