From the moment you walk through the door you will get the impression that our practice endeavors to be traditional on many levels. Foremost, Dr. Damiano is an old school solo practitioner who founded his practice completely from scratch. There was neither an existing practice to maintain nor even a minimally equipped location to occupy. Additionally, Dr. Damiano accepts his limitations as a dental healthcare provider and never desired to be anything else. Our professional services and our stature in the community are advertised strictly by word-of-mouth, not on billboard signs, radio, TV, newspaper ads or mass mailings. Dr. Damiano always dresses in business attire and a long white clinic coat. Soft classical music is the only genre played from a stereo system that serves every room in the facility. Our furnishings are simple, not space age nor flamboyant.
Almost without exception, the dentist will see you personally every time youre in the office for your dental cleanings and exams. Dr. Damiano and his dental team are called upon regularly to render 2nd opinions regarding treatment plans formulated by other providers. We recognize that there are infinite viable approaches for rendering ethical dental care. In that regard we never disparage the expertise of our peers. As a well established practice, we are not encumbered by bank loans for anything. Hence, we can afford to uphold a business model that speaks of common sense and restraint in assigning patient treatment options. Its not unusual for Dr. Damiano to guide the patient away from electing the most lucrative path, particularly if he couldnt justify it for a member of his own family. He actively recruits his patients desires and endeavors to honor them within reason. Dr. Damiano is a firm believer that everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances, is entitled to be informed of all of their options as he sees them. In our practice, staff bonus programs are never in play! Dr. Damiano believes they have no place in the healthcare industry!
As a patient you are foremost a fellow human being; one that is commissioning the profession of dentistry to uphold your well being . You have the right to expect your dental office to not abandon you and, above all, to be a haven away from forces that seek to exploit your trust.
Dr. Damiano was raised in LaFayette, New York, the second oldest in a family of five children, headed by his mother Christine and his father, the late Richard Damiano, D.D.S. John completed his pre-medical studies at Syracuse University, where in 1982 he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. The family produced another dentist, Johns older brother, Dr. Michael Damiano. In 1983, Mike married his McGill University classmate, Seada Damiano, D.D.S., bringing to four the number of Damiano general dentists practicing in Onondaga County. After three additional years of elective pre-doctoral education, John enrolled in the class of 1989 at Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio.
To round out his preparation for private practice, Dr. Damiano completed a one-year general practice residency at Saint Josephs Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, NY. Coincidently that outstanding program was founded and headed by his father. His certificate of completion is dated June 30, 1990. The very next day, July 1st, 1990, was the official opening of his private practice in Baldwinsville. Along with his wife Kathy, Dr. Damiano decided Baldwinsville would be their permanent home where eventually they raised their children Robert, Matthew and Joanna.

Just visited Dr. Damiano for the first time. The office manager and dental assistant were very friendly and accommodating, as was Dr. Damiano himself. The most pleasant appointment and thorough cleaning I've ever had!

Dr. Damiano went above and beyond. Very detailed in his practice and informative to his patients. Very honest dental practice. Won't sell things you don't need. I would highly recommend his dental services to everyone.

Dr. Damiano is honest, extremely competent, and has a sense of humor that makes me want to laugh when I am in the chair! He has filled cavities and pulled teeth; not once have I felt any pain. He is kind and gentle, yet thorough; he has saved me both time and money. I can truly say that I love my dentist! I've gone to him for about 25 years, and where his office is I can overlook the Seneca River when in the chair, and enjoy the view of his grand piano while in the waiting room. I've raved about him so much that my husband switched over to him. Dr. Damiano does outstanding work, and I am grateful to have him as my dentist.

Dr Damiano and his staff did a great job explaining everything they were doing, starting with an antibacterial mouth rinse. I'm a little obsessed with my dental health & they greatly exceeded my expectations! My teeth & whole mouth have never felt so clean. I would highly recommend Dr Damiano to anyone looking for a great dentist.

*Honest* Legitimately Personable Expedient Dr. Damiano and every staff member he's cultivated that I have had contact with, epitomize why there should be bonus stars awardable and basically a neon google sign saying hey! This is where you want to be. The Dr. communicates and coordinates with all staff - office, hygienists ect - directly and openly. There's no hiding. He's so thoughtful and involved and efficient it's just amazing to witness. Everything is just so straightforward and open and honest ( I appreciated recently - that's a *huge indicator). Transparency - check. Accountability - check. Human Factor - check. I was brought in the same day I called - my two major issues were identified immediately and prioritized accordingly. Simple. No frills. No BS. I was told two MEDICAL options. ( read on) and given the opportunity to have it addressed that day. ... at the very end of the day - no doubt an inconvenience. Finding Dr. Damianos practice was such a relief. I don't have space and you don't have the attention span to read the full story .... but for some perspective ... here's a VERY consolidated snapshot of what else is going on in alternative dental practices. And why Dr. Damiano and his staff are absolute saint and savior from the very first concern and continuing ... He and later on - his staff- could have seconded any or everything the first place told me. Knowing I wasn't going back to the other place simply because of how they handled it. Dr. Damiano (And his staff) was honest with me instead. Previous - Had visited a well known, seemingly google popular ( padded or poor sheep I have no clue there's over 200 of them ) and 'Gentle' practice up the street the very day prior. .... Left 'Gentle' place : SHOCKED by diagnosis' and treatment DEMANDS - which included ripping out my front teeth Buildups and replacing for - NO reason- Among 3 others) meant to be embarrassed if I didn't sign onto their $8000 option to get 2 of 2 actual and relevant cavities addressed at all (over 3.8 K package was the cheapest 1 of 2 only options for the privilege of fixing my one bad cavity at all. Otherwise. I was on my own) by way of AT LEAST ...ahem... THEIR ... 3rd party 0% payment plan ........(I can pay if I choose, and have 18 month options today if I chose, but thanks for treating me otherwise?). And don't get me started on the 5% discount fast talk .... which turned into :::: HAHAHAHA.... 'Gentle ' place still - ( the under 8k Verbal that the office head would NOT put in writing or explain / itemize my 'needs' on paper in the consult room....to touch two cavities not just the immediate deep one. But I was to sign ON THE SPOT and pay in full in advance to get started on treatment - my possibly root canal tooth getting so bad - Poss 1174 more maybe -but that off well over a month until after the 2200 cleaning bill absorbed and actual prob scheduled at their convenience. Wait. WHAT??? 8 K turned into 8900 overnight ( no root canal) Via email without the root canal liklihood mentioned in writing - When sent the 'summary' .... the other dentist 'offered' two contract options in order to- even consider - my immediate need and I was offered a 10% discount on $8900. Sooo. 8900 - 10% 890 = MORE THAN YOUR ORIGINAL PRICE. ) AND no root canal mention due your putting it off on the schedule to GUARANTEE I need it. Great place. Today's medical business models are often so scale driven that the patient becomes a mere $ symbol. Further, patients have minimal leverage considering their choices are constrained (by insurance) and practices KNOW it. So. Theres a hard sales and bully tactic going on..... sadly they flat out are dishonest sometimes too.
