From the moment you walk through the door you will get the impression that our practice endeavors to be traditional on many levels. Foremost, Dr. Damiano is an old school solo practitioner who founded his practice completely from scratch. There was neither an existing practice to maintain nor even a minimally equipped location to occupy. Additionally, Dr. Damiano accepts his limitations as a dental healthcare provider and never desired to be anything else. Our professional services and our stature in the community are advertised strictly by word-of-mouth, not on billboard signs, radio, TV, newspaper ads or mass mailings. Dr. Damiano always dresses in business attire and a long white clinic coat. Soft classical music is the only genre played from a stereo system that serves every room in the facility. Our furnishings are simple, not space age nor flamboyant.
Almost without exception, the dentist will see you personally every time youre in the office for your dental cleanings and exams. Dr. Damiano and his dental team are called upon regularly to render 2nd opinions regarding treatment plans formulated by other providers. We recognize that there are infinite viable approaches for rendering ethical dental care. In that regard we never disparage the expertise of our peers. As a well established practice, we are not encumbered by bank loans for anything. Hence, we can afford to uphold a business model that speaks of common sense and restraint in assigning patient treatment options. Its not unusual for Dr. Damiano to guide the patient away from electing the most lucrative path, particularly if he couldnt justify it for a member of his own family. He actively recruits his patients desires and endeavors to honor them within reason. Dr. Damiano is a firm believer that everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances, is entitled to be informed of all of their options as he sees them. In our practice, staff bonus programs are never in play! Dr. Damiano believes they have no place in the healthcare industry!

Dr. Damiano was raised in LaFayette, New York, the second oldest in a family of five children, headed by his mother Christine and his father, the late Richard Damiano, D.D.S. John completed his pre-medical studies at Syracuse University, where in 1982 he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. The family produced another dentist, Johns older brother, Dr. Michael Damiano. In 1983, Mike married his McGill University classmate, Seada Damiano, D.D.S., bringing to four the number of Damiano general dentists practicing in Onondaga County. After three additional years of elective pre-doctoral education, John enrolled in the class of 1989 at Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio.
To round out his preparation for private practice, Dr. Damiano completed a one-year general practice residency at Saint Josephs Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, NY. Coincidently that outstanding program was founded and headed by his father. His certificate of completion is dated June 30, 1990. The very next day, July 1st, 1990, was the official opening of his private practice in Baldwinsville. Along with his wife Kathy, Dr. Damiano decided Baldwinsville would be their permanent home where eventually they raised their children Robert, Matthew and Joanna.
