Dr. Rawa provides sleep apnea treatment, cosmetic dentistry, dental restoration, clear aligner, root canals, pediatric dentistry and emergency dentistry services to Latrobe, PA and the surrounding communities.
For 4 decades, I suffered from what is called a sleep disordered breathing. My snoring with age turned into obstructed sleep apnea and I showed all the signed and symptoms of OSA. In 2015 after being diagnosed with OSA, I started oral appliance therapy to treat my OSA. This was life changing for me and that is when I decided to dedicate my career to treat patients with sleeping disordered breathing.
I started by becoming a diplomate for the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. After having perfected treating adult patients with OTA, I progressed to treat children who suffered from sleep disordered breathing. We started screening young patients for breathing issues. We observed the ones who were mouth breathers and now offer the Healthy Start program. These are oral appliances habit correctors that help to encourage nasal breathing, proper swallowing, and help to guide the growing dentition into proper alignment.

I had the rest of my top teeth removed. After genetics and pregnancy my teeth became so bad, chipping/breaking off, decay, excessive deterioration.. I was so scared and honestly embarrassed. but when I tell you I cried happy tears yesterday that is an understatement.. I have not felt so comfortable with myself and my smile in such a long, long time. Rawa Dental did a fabulous job at making me feel so comfortable during the process because I absolutely dislike (LOATHE) the dentist, I almost cancelled my appointment. They made sure I was comfortable with the fit of my temporary before I even left the office. The amount of happiness and confidence I have in the last 24 hours had increased 10 fold. It has been a long time coming. I am so glad I finally decided to pull the trigger and I'm so happy I did. Dr. Rawa and this team were so comforting and accommodating during the process (especially with my severe anxiety around the dentist in general that I am so grateful!) It's been a while since I went to the dentist. I had a tooth break so I couldn't put it off any longer. My regular dentist retired. After asking my Facebook friends who they would would recommend. I chose John Rawa. I am so happy I did. The staff was amazing very friendly and DMD Rawa was so nice and understanding. Plus he was able to save my tooth.

This dentist's website advertises "laser dentistry" as if this is an actually peer reviewed and researched sound mode of conducting dentistry, and frankly should be embarrassed for doing so. Yikes. Do your due diligence folks.

I struggled with a CPAD for several years. I wore braces for a second time in preparation for a mouth guard that would help with the sleep apnea. When that was not a good solution, a friend recommended Dr. John Rawa. He is a knowledgeable and caring doctor with a wonderful staff. I felt comfortable from my first visit. I am now using a dental appliance for my sleep apnea very successfully. No more fighting with the CPAP or traveling with an extra bag. I also switched my routine dentistry to him. I am a very happy patient. I feel liberated!
