Persistent dry mouth can cause a variety of uncomfortable symptoms, including cracked lips, a sore throat, and a feeling of stickiness. Decreased saliva can also lead to frequent thirst and mouth sores.
Without sufficient saliva, normal daily activities can be more difficult. You may struggle to speak due to a hoarse voice or need to drink water frequently in order to swallow. Many individuals with dry mouth also have a decreased sense of taste.
Smoking and chewing tobacco can affect the amount of saliva you produce and exacerbate dry mouth. Regularly breathing with your mouth open can also contribute to dry mouth symptoms. Individuals with seasonal allergies or other conditions that limit their ability to breathe through their nose may suffer with frequent dry mouth as well.
Dry mouth is a common side effect of hundreds of prescription and over-the-counter medications, including antidepressants, antihistamines, and pain relievers. Some cancer therapies can also affect saliva.

"Where you are always treated like a member of our family." Sure, if it's the Manson Family. Give this a wide berth. I was his patient for over a decade...until he began blowing off my dental exams". Thumbs down, 100%. Stay away.

I've gone to Dr. Lindstrom for over 15 years. After going to various other dentists here in Medford I found that Dr Lindstrom is the most detail-oriented, perfectionist dentist I've ever gone to. He does microscopic dentistry which is absolutely amazing. I don't know of any other dentist in this area that does microscopic dentistry. I've had many crowns and veneers and he does absolutely beautiful amazing work. I get lots of compliments on my smile now! If you want the best I highly recommend Dr Lindstrom. And the bonus is...his office help are very professional and super nice!

The crew at John R. Linstrom 's office is very courteous, compassionate and professional. I had a deep cleaning done a few days ago and I felt very good that my dental hygiene has improved a great deal since I started being treated at this office 3 months ago. I can honestly say that I now floss at least once a day, and I owe this newly formed habit to the ability of Sienna to educate me on the many benefits of good dental hygiene. Tom J.

My experiences over a three year period with 'everyone' at Dr. John Linstrom's, DDS office has been excellent. This includes the dental assistant taking the X-rays and preparing the tools, to the hygienist (Siena) and the office manager and benefits coordinator. Dr. Linstrom continues to accept Medicare even when other dentists and oral surgeons (none) in the Rogue Valley no longer accept that insurance. When I broke a crown and had to have it replaced, the doctor referred me to an excellent oral surgeon and tracked that progress over several months and got me in as soon as possible. Did I mention his timely on call response over the weekend when I was struggling with pain from a different problem (root canal) at a Britt Concert? To quote a Tom Petty song, "I'm Paying For The Sins Of My Youth." However, Dr. Linstrom is doing an incredible job of keeping my mouth in shape. He's the best.

John Linstrom claimed I had perio disease and That I needed expensive treatments/deep cleanings done every few months. I went and got a second opinion who said absolutely not- you don't have perio disease at all. Then I got a third opinion who said the same thing- I do not have it. THEN I went to an actual periodontist who said my gums were healthy and no problems. One of my good friends is a dental hygienist in California and she said this dentist is being dishonest and just trying to make extra money off of me. I switched dentist offices and couldn't be happier. I've been with a different dentist for about two years now and thankful I left this place. They are also very vey over priced. After insurance I paid something around $75 for a teeth cleaning and at my new dentist I pay about $12 after insurance for a teeth cleaning. I do not recommend John Linstrom at all and after reading all these reviews I wanted to give my honest one.

I am a 76 year old retired Marine Corps Officer. I have been to many dentists and I consider Dr. John Linstrom to be the best. He is renowned for his use of the microscope which allows problems to be identified and treated before they become more serious and costly. He uses the latest technology to give his patients a thorough understanding of their treatment. He is caring, concerned and takes pride in his work. His staff is extremely proficient and exhibit the same genuine care and concern as does Dr. Linstrom. Julianne ensures all bases of the practice are covered. The best in all ways!! I really like the microscopic dentistry.. The Dr. took pictures inside my mouth and showed me all the problem areas as a result of going to a standard conventional dentist.. I believe after seeing first hand the work that needed to be completed and then the finished product; it left no questions in my mind that the work was more than sufficient. All of the staff was very pleasant and through the entire process felt very good.. If you need dental work done this is the place!!

All of the positive reviews appearing here and everywhere else about how good a dentist DDS. John R. Linstrom is , are as phony as a seven dollar bill. Or at least as fake as a plastic banana . Don't believe a single one. All you need do is to analyze them, and its obvious they all are basically worded to say the same thing over and over. This dentist doesn't have the integrity that God gave a hamster. He's a cold blooded money grubber who refused to treat me even though I was in extreme pain. He left me writhing in pain in his chair ,left the room and then told me to find another dentist. The reason: I told him I needed emergency treatment and would get back with him for all the other treatments he claimed I needed which amounted to well over 6 thousand dollars,. It turned out that 90% of what he prescribed was not needed. This happened some time ago but he still relies on his 35 year old photo from his college years to trick the people of Medford. He still relies on the phony paid for positive reviews and the co conspirators in the val pak and the Medford sneak preview to help him along. Do yourselves a big favor and forget this clown. before he does a number on you.

Doc's Linstrom's care and expertise is top notch and absolutely second to none. His team of hygienists, tech's and office staff all reflect his character and pride of care too. Although going to the dentist can be nerve racking, Doc' and his team have an excellent way of calming patients and sending them on there way, knowing their teeth are in good health and the procedure was done perfectly and efficiently!

I am not a fan of going to the dentist. Who is? But I have consistently found my visits to Dr. Linstrom as pleasant as a visit to the dentist can be. The professionalism and friendliness of Dr. Linstorm and his staff have convinced me that my teeth are in good hands, so to speak. Knowing that his equipment is state of the art also helps. Dr. Linstom's enthusiasm for for his profession shines through. I gladly recommend him and his staff for your dental care.
