Dr. Patterson graduated in 2003 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Upon receiving his DMD degree he moved to Phoenix and started practicing dentistry around the valley. Dr. Patterson has earned a sedation permit 1302 from the state of Arizona allowing him to sedate patients comfortably using the latest IV sedation, oral sedation, nitrous oxide sedation techniques.
Dr. Patterson completed a 2- year implant training externship in British Columbia, Canada, and has been using digital 3D technology to perform complicated and simple implant cases with predictable outcomes. Solea Laser dentistry has been the latest technology added to the practice in the last few years. Dr. Patterson is constantly attending continuing education classes on the latest dental technology, which improves our offices overall knowledge and quality of service.
Dr. Patterson is an avid bike rider, runner, swimmer and has competed in numerous Ironman triathlons over the last few years. Dr. Patterson is also married has two children that are now teens and a dog named Sally. Dr. Patterson opened Joh Patterson DMD in Chandler, AZ October of 2015.
Alongside Dr. Patterson, youll find his awesome assistant- Rachelly! She assists Dr. Patterson in all procedures- implants, crowns, fillings, etc. She is a key player to keeping the back office running smoothly so youll have the best visit possible. With over 12 years of dental experience, and earning her certificate of Dental Assisting in 2010 from Phoenix College, you know youre in good hands! Her favorite part of working in the dental field is helping create beautiful smiles! Outside the dental office, Rachelly enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, being an active member in her church, watching movies, and cooking.

CEREC tooth restoration uses the proven technologies of CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) to incorporate a camera, computer and milling machine into one instrument. Our CEREC dentist will use a special camera to take a picture of your damaged tooth, so theres no need for uncomfortable molds or temporaries. The picture is transferred to a color computer screen where we use CAD technology to design and CAM technology to automatically create it. Then well bond the custom designed piece to the surface of your old tooth.

I've always HATED going to the dentist (bad childhood experience) but this guy is FANTASTIC. He's unbelievably thorough, explains the processes very plainly, puts you at ease, tells you what he's seeing and what you need to do better, etc. The office staff are all good as well, but I haven't have much interaction with them because Dr. Patterson does most of the work himself, even cleaning! I can't imagine ever changing dentists again.

Back when Patterson had the office in Mesa, prices were more affordable. Now that he is in Chandler, the prices have gone up and the quality of work has gone down. I was charged crown prices for my back molar, which chipped twice over time. Patterson refused to guarantee the work. I just had REAL crowns done for $650 per crown elsewhere.

If you're looking for an empathetic, high-tech, skilled, and sanitary dentist office in the Phoenix area, this is the place to go! Amazing dentist office -- Dr. Patterson and the entire office staff are exceptional! They go the extra mile and are on the cutting edge of dental technology. They are a small office and take just one patient at a time, so you get the dentist's full attention and focus (and it's more sanitary). At other dentist offices, you'd typically just get some basic bitewing x-rays, but here they do a full CT scan to holistically evaluate the health of your teeth. Dr. Patterson takes the time to sit down with you and explain everything fully -- he truly cares about his patients. Perhaps best of all, they have laser technology -- I got 2 cavities filled with zero numbing, zero needles, zero drilling, zero pain. The entire appointment took 30 minutes, and half of that was chatting with the dentist and checking out at the end.

I so look forward to my visit every six months. Dr Patterson is a dentist that is so concerned with the health of your mouth and you. Kind, friendly and takes such pride in his work. Just feel I hit the jackpot when I found him!

I was very impressed with Dr. Patterson and his team from the moment I entered his office. Everything is state of the art and technically advanced. I was really excited when I saw the CT scan with my teeth superimposed on my skull and I got to see everything that was wrong with my teeth. There was complete transparency about everything that the team did during my appointment and photo evidence of the result. Everything was explained as far as clinical care and cost, which I appreciate. Further, Dr. Patterson was completely honest about what would need to be done at this time and in the future. I really appreciate the patient care I received at the office and am ecstatic about the result.

You can't get better than Dr. Patterson. Im in the dental sales industry and appalled by what most dentist do to teeth. Dr. Patterson would rather give you the filling you need than the $2000 crown that most dentists would do unnecessarily to make more $. His dentistry is amazing, he will make sure you have your teeth for a lifetime... and if you REALLY need a crown, he can make it right there in the office, it takes about an hour instead of a week or more for a lab to make. I can not recommend him high enough. We drive from Cave Creek to see him. He is the BEST Dentist in the valley!
