Dr. DiMaccio started his California practices in 1989. A graduate of Ohio State University in 1973. He served as Chairman on the judicial board for his local dental society. He heard cases and assisted in the resolution of conflicts between dentists and patients. He earned his California Dental License in 1989 and opened his practice that same year.
Dr. DiMaccio practiced in Ohio for several years before moving his family to California. He is passionate about his role in providing excellent dental care to his patients. He has a specific focus on caring for his patients as he would his own family.
He strives to offer the most current techniques and materials and adheres strictly to his time tested, pain free injection technique. The comfort of his patients is of utmost importance to him as he is concerned with every aspect of his patients experience. From the greeting at the front desk, the communication of treatment needs, ultimately, to every moment spent in his chair and office. Dr. DiMaccio counts on his staff to be accountable as he is, for the interaction between himself and his valued patients. His creative abilities and love for art and beauty has enhanced his ability to create beautiful smiles through the latest in cosmetic restorations and procedures including but not limited to veneers, all porcelain crowns, cosmetic bridges and implants to replace unsightly, cracked, chipped and missing teeth.
In his personal time Dr. DiMaccio enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He enjoys swimming, playing and attending his Grandchildrens sporting events and enjoys fishing and travel. He enjoys reading and keeps up on all the latest health and dental news. Health and wellness research is a favorite subject and Dr. DiMaccio is intent and focused on making a difference and helping humanity achieve their best health. He feels very accomplished and happy that he can help people through his work and concern for people.
After a 10 year career in the cosmetic industry, Gina was at a crossroads, her decision was to continue on to account management with Nordstrom 's or venture out into something new. The years of creating beautiful faces through skincare and cosmetics left a big question for Gina. She wondered why her clients were content with just looking great when they had their smiles hidden? She would often discuss this with her clients and the most common reply was 'I can 't afford to fix my teeth' or 'I didn 't know I could easily fix my teeth.'
She decided to apply for an entry level position at a local dental care provider in 1999. She worked her way up gathering dental knowledge and gaining confidence in processing insurance. She worked for 4 years in the position of Front Office Administration. The dental office she worked with accepted all insurances and administered a large senior citizens insurance plan that Gina was especially concerned with. She left the position there with the confidence and concern needed to consider herself a patient advocate of sorts.
She joined Dr. DiMaccio's team in 2004 as his Office Manager. She considers herself very fortunate to have found such a wonderful Doctor to work for. She enjoy's working with the longtime patient's that are now more like friend's. She is especially grateful to have the confidence of referring her own friends and family to Dr. DiMaccio. Her greatest joy comes from the happy patient's that continually thank her and constantly express their appreciation for their Dr. that does not hurt them! She looks forward to continued success at Dr. DiMaccio's office.
Beejay, Joined Dr DiMaccios staff in fall of 2005. Beejay has been a wonderful impact on our practice. Patients like working with Beejay as he is very compassionate and attentive to each individual patients needs. Beejay enjoys helping patients transform their smiles with the best positive dental experience possible. On his days off, he loves to spend quality time with his wife and son, traveling and golfing.
TJ is one of our Registered Dental Hygienist. Tj comes to us with past dental experience as an RDA and lab technician who knows his way around an office. TJ is always wearing his smile. His mission is to provide the best dental care and experience possible. When away from the office TJ enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and children and relaxation.

I hate leaving a bad review but this has been a wonderful place for my family of 5 and I for over decade. We have switched dentists mostly because the new office manager (I think it's spelled Anderia) is really hostile and rude. The first time we were shocked by her behavior I had compassion and marked it off as stress to her new position. Then the fourth, fifth time she was mean to my sweet daughter I had enough and pulled our info and switched dentist. What a shame. ************ I just saw the dentist office managers response, which may I say is the most professional she has communicated with me thus far. However, her response proves my point as I simply have been trying to get a copy of my own bill, period. To this day I still have no idea what I owe and for which services. I am not going to go back & forth any further so please just beware that we are not the only family being accosted by the new office manager. Good luck

Very happy with the service and honesty. My husband and his family have gone here for the past 20 years so I decided to give them a go after being told I would need my canines crowned due to what I saw being small cavities. Got a second opinion from Dr D. who confirmed that all I would need is filings. Not only did he save me thousands he also was genuine in his analysis of my mouth and future treatment. All the staff has been so friendly and kind. Appointments are easy to get. Overall, have had terrible experiences with numerous dentist I can finally say I have found my forever dentist and am in the best hands.

The whole staff at Dr. DiMaccio's office is amazing. My teeth have never looked better and I've never been so comfortable in a dentists chair before. Would absolutely recommend.

I went to this dentist back in May and received a cleaning. However afterwards I could not get in touch with them. They didn't answer my calls for weeks. I finally found the time to stop by and Andrea the woman at the front desk is angry for no apparent reason. Just awful energy! She accuses me of not having insurance and tries to have me pay a $415 bill for my previous cleaning. I object to this because I do have insurance. She told me to leave to office about 5 times and I refused because I felt I was being treated unfairly and that it was racially motivated. I voice this concern with the treatment I'm receiving and then she says, "I'm not white I'm Mexican" out loud. She finally finds my insurance information (turns out she just wasn't doing her job correctly). She caused this whole scene in the office that made it seem like I was the problem. It was honestly embarrassing. She tells the rest of the staff in the office a very different story about the interaction I am sure because I went in again and was told by a different lady there were no appointments available. Then I get a call from Andrea saying she is SORRY and that she was in the WRONG! She proceeds to tell me that she is having medical issues and took it out on me! At this point I'm shocked! So you mean to tell me I was yelled at and treated horribly because you are having issues in your personal life. Sounds like Andrea needs to learn to leave it at the door when she goes to work! After she is done apologizing she offers me an appointment for the next day. WEIRD I thought there were none available! Shame on the other front desk lady for lying to me it was very unprofessional and I wish I remembered her name. I collected my X-rays from them and found a new dentist :)) I forgot to mention that when I arrived I was not assisted, and there was no one at the front desk. This is before I encountered Andrea. While waiting I overheard 2 staff shopping. I look in the first room to the right and see a open tab, they were LITERALLY shopping for cashmere sweaters! They did not even realize I had entered the building. I had to drop my keys on the desk for them to notice me. Response: No not at all how that happened I get it you are trying to save face. I called her out on her racism because she was not treating me like other clients that come into your practice. All that information should have been collected before I even sat down to get service honestly. But when I came in that morning for my cleaning Andrea told me not to fill that section out. Then later she said I gave false information. NO ONE CALLED ME or was answering my phone calls that is why I physically showed up. Andrea already admitted she was the one with BAD ENERGY. She made something that was about business personal. HER APOLOGY SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUBLIC LIKE THE DISRESPECT WAS PUBLIC. Also they were shopping on the desktop computer not their phones. Seems like you guys need to get your office together. Good thing it's all in the past now.

John P. DiMaccio is the only dentist we have used since we moved to Carlsbad in 2006. We would not think of going to another dentist. Dr. DiMaccio and his staff are professional, courteous and efficient.

This team feels like family! Love Dr Dimaccio, Gina and team! They are very nice, caring and full of helpful info. I had a horrible experience at my last dental office were my previously very healthy front teeth were damaged. The team at La Costa Dental care has been very warm, comforting and full of good info. They treat you like family. Dr D has also taken a call on a Sunday when I was in a lot of pain. I truly appreciate that as I didn't know what to do and was very concerned. Thank you!
