Dr. Schmidt is originally from Oakmont, PA, near Pittsburgh. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1990 and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1995. He began his dental career in Michigan and moved to Lancaster County, PA, in 1998 where he practiced in Elizabethtown and thenEphrata for many years.
Dr. Schmidt is skilled in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry, and offers restorative procedures, crown and bridge work, root canal, dental implants, full and partial dentures, as well as hygiene and periodontal maintenance. He believes it is of the utmost importance to build a personal relationship with each of his patients. His goal is to provide the highest level of dental care possible on a person to person basis.
Dr. Justin Ngo was raised in Lancaster County and is excited to be able to practice in the community he knows and loves. Upon graduating Penn Manor High School, he attended Millersville University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and also completed a minor in Biochemistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry and then proceeded to complete a one-year General Practice Residency in Restorative Dentistry at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ngo is excited to join the team and is inspired to give back to his local community, providing dedicated, compassionate care. His priority is to provide the most advanced dental care in a pleasant atmosphere, creating trust and building quality relationships with his patients. He is an avid participant in continuing dental education and is committed to providing the professions leading dental care procedures while utilizing state-of-the-art technology.
It is with bittersweet emotions that I announce my retirement. After 30 plus years of private practice, I am excited to move on to the next phase of life, but will miss all the wonderful relationships developed through the years.
One of those relationships has been with Dr. Schmidt. After joining forces with Dr. Schmidt last year and working with him and his team, I am very comfortable that the transition will continue to be smooth and the care excellent! John has also graciously left the door open for me in case I decide to return in the future. All of your records will be maintained at this office.

I was nervous because of the recent negative reviews, but I'm so glad I chose this dentist. Their service was excellent! Danielle was very thorough and caring and Dr. Schmidt took his time to answer all of my questions. I highly recommend!

Some new dentist there botched my root canal and said the tooth HAD to be pulled IMMEDIATELY and they would give me a great price on an implant. So he pulled the tooth. Next followup visit I saw Dr Schmidt and HE said the other dentist was wrong and shouldn't have pulled my tooth. They offered me a lousy (and insulting) $200.00 off a very expensive implant. And I had been a long time patient there with my husband and both of my children. I never went back and am now missing a first molar.

Definitely not a good honest dental office to go to. My daughter is only 6 years old and her very first time seeing dentist. When i call to make an appointment she ask me for her insurance information right away and i have her insurance information and i asked her you accept this kind of insurance right? Since this kind of insurance is her very first year with them and they told me yes we accept this insurance company. Now, they can not submit the insurance to this company because they are not in there network. They gave me a big bill and i told them it's not my fault because you guys told me you guys accept that insurance. I can pay 50% but not all since it's not my fault. The office manager started to flip her ways of talking no, no body ever told you that we accept that insurance and she started to like arguing. Omg she's horrible. Which office ever make appointment without asking insurance information first?????? Don't know how to respond to your reponse below!!! If you told me on the phone to check with my insurance before making an appointment, why don't i call and make an appointment somewhere else but your office to have consequences getting a big bill. Why do i have to continue making appointment with you guys while your office is not in the insurance network. The way you are saying showed that you are a big lier. Dear dr, Today is 2/15/2022. The reason why i keep editing my comments is because google doesn't allow me to write more responses. After talking to your office manager about insurance issues, I just received a bill from you for my daughter. I called in and paid the bill by the phone and also cancel all my children's future appointments which will be around June of 2022. Because i don't want to receive a no show bill in the future. The person who picked up the phone said the office manager took off all my children future appointments without notices. Is she even allowed to do that? Is this a doctor office or a market place? I want to know your answer to my question please! Thank you!!!

My issue was not with the dental care I received, rather from the treatment by the office manager. Unprofessional, timely information was not sent to my insurance company because it was erroneously submitted to my husband's insurance WHICH I WAS NEVER COVERED BY. I ended up paying out of pocket because cousin was not submitted timely. Idid it because I didn't catch it in time and the service was provided. That was the right thing for me to do. Three years later, the same thing happened with my son, his claim was submitted to my ex-husband's insurance. Outstanding bill was sent to me, at ex's house (where I never lived) for my son. Called to clarify insurance and was told after explaining (but not being heard) that it's difficult when a dependent changed from one parent's insurance to the other. HELLO, he WAS NEVER covered by ex's insurance. Find out a month later that it still hasn't been submitted to correct insurance. Found a new dentist with a very professional, friendly, and personable office staff, as well. Spent a lot of time taking pictures in my mouth, showing me what they saw, explaining what it meant, what might happen, and explaining what they were recommending I do and a timeline to do it. After looking at other one-star reviews, I completely expect to see a reply that this is my fault. Notice a pattern?

Best dentist ever! The professionalism they have in this office is by far the best I've seen at any place. I got multiple procedures done with Dr. Schmidt and I cannot recommend them enough. In the multiple times I visited, I was seen by 3 doctors and some apprentices helping, and every single time I felt that I was being treated by the most professional and dedicated staff in the world. Not only would I recommend any doctor who practices in this office; but I also have to say that they have some of the best equipment and supplies, which you don't find everywhere. This people truly care about their customers, from the insurance questions, billing, pain tolerance, COVID-19 prevention, they are right on top of any need.

I've moved a lot and been to a LOT of dentists. This is my favorite practice! They were recommended to me by a coworker about 6 years ago, and I've been so happy with my experience! You honestly never wait...at most there is like one person sitting in a waiting chair by the gorgeous fireplace. I've never sat down, and I'm in and out in 37 minutes flat for a regular checkup and cleaning. But it's still a good cleaning and it doesn't feel rushed. It's remarkable. I had a cavity filled once and it was a good experience. One time I had a problem with my bill; I went in to the office and they resolved it for me immediately. The entire staff is nice, helpful, efficient, professional. Highly recommend!!!

Please be aware of your personal information not being kept securely. I was last seen in this office a few years ago. Last week I received an Explanation of Benefits with my insurance information, but for a completely different person. I do not know the person listed on the Explanation of Benefit, but I now know the patients name, date of service and what he was seen for. There is no excuse for his information being submitted to the insurance company under my insurance plan. I immediately contacted the office when I received the explanation, and thoroughly explained the error. I received a return call today from the office manager, Jen. She did admit that it was an error on their end, but definitely did not seem empathetic or to even really care that this happened. She admitted that it was their fault. I tried to have her understand how this was a violation of my personal information and violation of the other persons private information. She simply didn't care or seem to grasp the magnitude of what happened. Be careful with your information actually being kept confidential as it should be.

For over 40 years I have enjoyed going to the dentist! I was with Dr. Robertson before and now with Dr. Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt has organized his whole team into a Dental Staff that treats one like family. I receive a smile from the time I enter, during my cleaning, the check-up by Dr. Ngo and then on the way out I still being taken care of in a way that makes me want to come back! Thank you for being down to earth, yet very professional and very informative. I will recommend you folks to any one who is interested!
