Katie, RDAKatie joined our team in 2013. With over 13 years of experience as a dental assistant, her knowledge and skill along with her strong work-ethic make a very positive impact in our practice. What Katie enjoys most about dentistry is making her patients feel comfortable and working to create a patient friendly environment. We so appreciate the care and compassion she has for people and the strong relationships she has with our patients. In her free time, Katie enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and swimming, but the thing she loves most is spending time with her son
JulieJulie joined our office in 2017, coming to us with over 20 years of experience managing the dental office front desk. Julie’s confidence with her role and easy-going personality make patients feel at home in our practice. Her experience and knowledge along with her outstanding communication skills ensure our patients’ ease of understanding of treatment needs, insurance benefits and financial arrangements. Julie’s interests outside of the dental office include hiking, reading and DIY projects
I grew up in Port Angeles, Washington, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California in 1992 and from there went on to receive a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from Tufts University in Boston, MA in 1996. I met my wife, Megan, shortly before graduating from Loyola. She was born and raised in Leavenworth. When the opportunity to purchase our current practice came up, it was a dream come true and I began my practice in the summer of 1996. We truly appreciate being able to raise our daughters in Leavenworth and together we enjoy so much of what this amazing valley has to offer.
I have enhanced my dental skills through continuing education at the KOIS Institute in Seattle. This is a state-of-the art teaching center that is respected world-wide. I feel very fortunate to have such a facility so close to home and this has helped me shape my philosophy on dental care. This philosophy centers on striving to meet the dental needs of each patient with the best possible care we can provide.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association and the North Central Washington Dental Society.In my spare time, I love to be exercising outdoors whether it be running, biking, hiking or skiing.

TEN STARS!! Honestly, I cannot give this office enough stars. They have been working with my elderly mother in law for about 5 months now. They have been kind and accommodating in every way. They have offered reasonable treatment plans in a phased approach making it possible for her to meet her goals. They go out of their way to provide most excellent care in a professional setting. Thank you Dr. S and staff.

Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this dental practice due to it's unsafe Covid protocol. Some of the hygienists have refused to be vaccinated and are only wearing a surgical mask and face shield. This will not protect patients if one of them were to contract Covid and be as asymptomatic. An n95 should be worn at all times if a hygienist is unvaccinated since patients cannot mask during their cleanings.

Honestly everyone at this office was so nice, from the receptionist to the assistants to the hygienist to the dentist. The work was great too (cleaning and filling replacement), and they worked well with my insurance, super highly recommend this dental office!!

Really excellent staff. From the minute you walk in they are welcoming and helpful. Julie at the front desk is very sweet and easy to work with when it comes to billing and scheduling. Dr. Schiefelbein is efficient and kind. The hygienist and other professionals are all very thorough, answer questions, explain what's happening, and are just nice to talk to. Clean office, very updated technology, all around a great office.

Just had a crown done. Amazing experience! 3D imaging and in house made crown. Fit perfectly and I was done in less than 2.5 hours!
