As a lifelong resident of the Detroit area, Dr. Colasanti began his journey to providing outstanding dental health care as a microbiology student at the University of Michigan. Prior to completing his undergraduate studies in microbiology, he was one of a select few who gained early acceptance to the University of Detroit School of Dentistry the regions most elite training program for clinical dentistry.
After finishing his studies at the University of Detroit, Dr. Colasanti knew it was essential for him to gain deep experience across the dental health field. This lead him to practice as an associate and broaden his already expansive knowledge of dental care. In 1991, he realized his dream of owning a practice by purchasing a long-standing dental office in Livonia.
In 1998, Dr. Colasanti completed his vision of creating an innovative dental space. He purchased and completely renovated his current location in Livonia at 15737 Farmington Road near Five Mile where he continues to grow his skills and technology with each new dental advancement.
Today, he continues evolving his practice by staying up-to-date on innovative dental procedures. His recent studies have been focused on the surgical placement of implants and associated bone grafting through training at the prestigious Zimmer implant Institute in Carlsbad California, the Engel Institute and the Detroit Dental Clinic Club.
Most recently, Dr. Colasanti has been involved in the treatment of sleep apnea with oral appliances. Based on his bold and effective alternative to traditional CPAP therapy, Dr. Colasanti has given multiple presentations at St. Mary's Hospital and works closely with physicians from local hospitals to treat sleep apnea patients in need.
When he's not diving deep into the latest dental innovations, Dr. Colasanti enjoys spending time with his wife and two beautiful daughters, enhancing his own health through fitness and taking in fresh air by boating, fishing and skiing.

I've been seeing doctor colosanti for many years now after finding his ad in a valpak mailer. He has been by far the best dentist I've ever seen and I currently live in New York but will arrange appointments around trips back to Michigan. I've seen other dentists since moving and all have commented on the quality of the work that Dr. Colosanti has done , I've have to to find a dentist local to me that does the same quality work in such a friendly office with his outstanding staff.

The teach cleaning at Colasanti office is excellent. Sheila who does the cleaning job is very professional and thorough. Dr. Colasanti is very honest and diligent. He suggests only the time the treatment is necessary. I trust him 100%. I recommend Dr. Colasanti for sure!

I've been a patient of Dr. Colasanti for over 25 years. Recently I've undergone complex dental treatments, including gum surgery, under crown root canal, denture and bridge rebuild. The type of work that requires many skills and very experienced dentist. It was almost 1,5 years process and I am very grateful to Dr. Colasanti and happy with results and the way he handled my case. John really took time with me to explain all options available and every step of the process, he helped me to decide which solutions are right for me personally. I was obsessed with my new crowns look undetectably natural and John made a few appointments with Dobbs Dental Ceramics ( kudos to Trent!), so I could talk to lab technician in person, to insure they customize my bridge and it works the best for me. I was in control of my final appearance every step of the way as John and Trent used over 50 years of combined experience to transform my vision and expectations into beautiful smile. Thank you Dr. Colasanti and your wonderful staff for treating your patients with such kindness, compassion, and attention to every detail from start to completion!

I began seeing Dr. Colasanti after a previous dentist botched several root canals on two different teeth. Dr. Colasanti took the time and care to clearly explain what the other dentist had done wrong and then outlined his plan to remedy the situation. It took several visits over a period of years, where Dr. Colasanti would continually follow-up on my recovery, and have me come in for routine check-ups to make sure everything was healing properly. This compared to the hack and slash guy who is now out of business. After my previous horrific experiences elsewhere, I wouldn't trust my teeth with anyone else.
