Dr. Han K. Do graduated from the University of California at San Francisco, School of Dentistry in 1996. He keeps up with the latest advances and techniques in dentistry by taking numerous continuing education courses. Dr. Do uses high-tech equipment, such as Digital X-rays, CEREC, lasers, and intraoral cameras to achieve excellent restorative and cosmetic results. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Michael Mikitka enjoys dentistry because it allows him to enhance his patient's general health. A prosthodontist, Dr. Mikitka graduated from the University of California Los Angeles Dental School in 1971 and then did graduate work at Boston University. After 20 years of serving as a dental specialist with the U.S. Air Force and Army, he retired in 1997 to go into private practice. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Javdan grew up in southern California with a passion for research and science. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from University of California Los Angeles, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. While obtaining this degree, he volunteered at community dental clinics and health fairs as well as shadowing a dentist. These opportunities inspired him to pursue a career in dentistry.
To fulfill his aspiration in becoming a dentist, Dr. Javdan attended University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery. Through his efforts with Remote Area Medical (RAM) and UCSF Community Dental Clinic, Dr. Javdan provided dental services for patients with limited access to care. Encountering patients suffering from advanced periodontal disease with hopeless dentition sparked his interest to save teeth through different treatment modalities and further his education in periodontics.
Needing some true Italian food in his life, Dr. Javdan set out to New York and completed a 36-month specialty advanced training in Periodontics at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. During his residency, he taught pre-doctoral dental students in clinic and through lectures. In addition, he presented to general dentists at the Suffolk County Dental Society Meeting. Towards the end of his residency, Dr. Javdan was chosen to participate in the Straumann National Resident Symposium.
Family, sunny weather and great opportunities led Dr. Javdan to drive 2,865 miles to Sacramento after graduation. He thrives on providing quality dental care at the highest level of excellence in a comfortable setting.
Dr. Javdan provides diagnosis and treatment of the various forms of periodontal diseases, dental extractions, soft and hard tissue grafting, placement of dental implants, and sinus grafting. He believes in providing every patient with comprehensive and individualized care.
Dr. Javdan is board certified by the American Board of Periodontology, while being an active member of the dental societies such as American Academy of Periodontology, Western Society of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Nisson grew up in Eureka, California where his father was a general dentist. He learned from his father the importance of building trusting relationships based on honesty and respect. He graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree and began his dental education at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). After becoming a general dentist, he went on to complete specialty training in orthodontics for another two years, and received his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree and his Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of the Pacific Orthodontic Residency Program.
Dr. Nisson has been practicing orthodontics exclusively in Cameron Park since 1988. Since that time, he attended numerous continuing education courses, including the Advanced Education in Orthodontics Group and the Spear Study Club, keeping abreast of the latest advancements in orthodontics.
Dr. Nisson has lived in Shingle Springs for the past 25 years. He and his wife, Rene, have 17-year-old triplets. They also have seven goats, one pig, three sheep, two bunnies, three cats, and two dogs. To say theirs is a full house is an understatement!
Dr. Nisson is a member of United States Masters Swimming, where he swims with the Masters Swim Team many nights a week and competes in swim meets. He is a past President of the Suburban Swim League, a summer swim league with over 2500 swimmers. He plays guitar and recently performed with two of his children at their high school choir fundraiser.
