Dr. John Covert is passionate about dentistry. He thoroughly enjoys his practice and his patients and strives to remain on the leading edge of dentistry through continuing education. Dr. Covert has been practicing at this location since 1984. Dr. Covert graduated Magna Cum Laude from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 1980. He was named the Outstanding Graduate from the Division of Life Sciences. He received his doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio in 1984.
He and his wife, Carol, have twin boys. Dr. Covert enjoys tennis, scuba diving, camping, and other outdoor activities with his family. His father was career Air Force, which enabled him to live in many different places growing up with a love of history and travel. Dr. Covert was in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1980 until 1990.
Dr. Sugg was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He later attended the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree Cum Laude. Dr Sugg enjoys spending time with his wife and their two Great Danes and relaxes by doing wood working projects in his garage. He is enthusiastic about dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the San Antonio District Dental Society.
Dr. Aaron Vaughn graduated from Cole High School. He then spent a year at Ricks College in the shadows of the Teton Mountains before finishing his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. He came home to San Antonio in 1997 to attend Dental School at the UT Health Science Center. After graduation, Dr. Vaughn completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Audie L. Murphy hospital in San Antonio. He then completed an endodontic specialty residency at Virginia Commonwealth University where he earned a masters degree in June 2005. Dr. Vaughn also holds a part-time position as Clinical Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

This sounds so odd to say but they legitimately care about my smile and oral health in addition to caring about me as a person. I had a last minute issue and they came in office to help me out because it was the Friday before a holiday weekend. Whenever I am there they ask about my whole family and general well-being. They take time during appointments to understand what is causing any oral issues by asking questions about my life that I would have never realized impact my teeth but learn that certain things (like where I was born) have an impact! This office is incredible and I would recommend them time and time again. I have seen them all but routinely see Dr. Sugg and Dr. Vaughn. I have a crown that looks so real, even one of the hygienist couldn't believe it was a crown. I got it because the team cared so much about my smile that they took the time to color match the crown perfectly. That's the kind of service you get here!

Covert for at least 10years and everyone there is so patient with me and gentle cause I'm horrible when I go to the dentist but they make me feel special. Thanks for being so great to me. Had my 6 month dental cleaning and 5 year panoramic X-rays. The dental office was clean and organized and the staff professional and courteous. The dental hygienist was thorough and she explained ways I can better improve my dental health. I'm very pleased with the treatment and care I have received over the many years as a patient of dentist Covert and staff. I'm also pleased with the pre screening questions asked prior to my appointment to help prevent the spread of respiratory infections.
