Dr. Tracy Taddey's approach is gentle and caring, as well as sophisticated and advanced. Her knowledge of the latest cosmetic and restorative techniques represents her passion for providing the best dentistry while caring for her patients' long term dental health and individual needs.
Following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father, Dr. Taddey obtained her B.A. from New York University, and is a third generation dentist. She graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1998. Dr. Taddey began her career at Elle Magazine in New York City as a Beauty and Fashion Editor. Researching health issues for articles sparked her interest and guided her decision to pursue a career in the health field. By combining her creative Fashion and Beauty journalism background with dentistry she focuses her practice on Cosmetic Dentistry and creating beautiful smiles.
Dr. Tracy is a member of several local and national dental societies including the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. Dr. Tracy is an Alumni Board member of University of the Pacific Dental School. She runs competitively and enjoys participating in Half Marathons and Marathons, including The Boston Marathon 2019. Another favorite activity is horseback riding on her horse Foxy.
Dr. Taddey is honored to be voted BEST DENTIST for 2019 in La Jolla Light Readers Poll and for many past years she has consistently been voted among The Best Dentists in La Jollain bothThe La Jolla Light, and the La Jolla Village News newspaper reader polls.
John J. Taddey, a La Jolla dentist for 43 years is a New York University Dental School graduate. He practiced dentistry in New York City for 5 years and taught post-graduate dentistry at Montefiore Hospital before hearing the beckoning call from sunny California. He settled in La Jolla in 1974.
John had been chairman of the dental section of Scripps Memorial Hospital and for 15 years was chairman of the TMJ and Facial Pain Conference there. He is also the author of 'TMJ: The Self Help Program,' a book published nationally and a lecturer on dental topics. John has also been honored as a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry(FAGD).John is amember and past trustee of the La Jolla Town Council, and has been co-chairman of the council 's business and professional committee. Dr. Taddey 's father was a dentist in New York City and two of his daughters have followed in his footsteps. His oldest daughter Tracy, also a dentist, joined him in the La Jolla practice in 1999 and his middle daughter Kristin, a dental hygienist, worked with her dad and sister two days a week before marrying and moving to Virginia.
Over the past 10 years Dr. Tracy and Dr. John have both been honored by being selected for awards as BEST DENTIST in LaJolla by the La Village News as well as The La Jolla Light's Readers Surveys. Thank you for your continuing confidence.

Tracy and her team are so kind and great to work with, they went above and beyond in seeing me when I was having an issue with my wisdom teeth and promptly referred me to the surgeon! The office is clean and bright- not to mention the relaxing ocean views. I am so glad to have found them, what a positive dental experience

My experience here has been wonderful. Dr. Tracy is simply the best! My teeth cleaning was done by Ashley and she was so gentle and detailed. Sandy did my fills and she is such an expert. She made me feel so comfortable. Everyone here is amazing at what they do! And to top it all off, you have the view of the ocean right from your chair!

Dr. Tracy is amazing and is one of the most caring dentist I have ever met. I just started coming here and have decided from the level of care I am getting here, the amazing staff, a beautiful view of the ocean that I can see as I am being treated, is worth my long drive from home. My experiences so far have been one of the best cleanings in detail I have ever received from Ashley. I love that she takes the time to not miss a single surface of any tooth and really is passionate about the process. I had Sandy take care of a few fillings I had and another crown. Dr. Tracy and Sandy went above in beyond to make sure I was comfortable along the entire process and took time to even reassure me she would check on me later that day. The level of dedication from everyone has blown me away. I am excited that I made the decision to do my Invisalign here because I wanted to make sure I would be happy with everyone due to seeing them for the next year or more. I really felt that this office checks off all the boxes. The front desk is really helpful and provide you with all the information ahead of time, during and after. If your reading this review, do yourself a favor and come here. From a person that never writes reviews and taking the time to do this means that I had an exceptional experience. I found Dr. Taddey through a recommendation of a coworker over a decade ago and I never looked back. Today was my second time with dental hygienist Ashley and she did a wonderful job. The entire time she was cleaning, she made sure I was comfortable. She took her time meticulously cleaning each tooth. I have a super sensitive gag reflex and she didn't trigger it once, not even while cleaning the back teeth! Thank you Ashley for your technical expertise and your patience. You made my experience very positive and painless! Thank you for your exceptional care.

I have been going to this office for over a year and I absolutely love it! Not only is the office clean and modern with amazing views, but Dr. Tracy and her team are wonderful! I have been under care of John and Tracey TADDEY for the past 25 years. They are the best and although their office is far from my residence, couldn't bring myself to go to another closer Dentist.
