Harrisburg dentist, Dr. Kiessling is a native of South Williamsport, PA and moved to Hummelstown as a teenager. He graduated from Lower Dauphin High School and received his Bachelors Degree in Biology from Lycoming College. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine fromTemple University School of Dentistry. Following graduation from Temple he completed one year of residency in general dentistry at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Kiessling is a member ofHarrisburg Area Dental Society,5th District Dental Society,Pennsylvania Dental Association, and theAmerican Dental Association.He is a Past President of theHarrisburg Area Dental Societyand the 5th District Dental Society. He has been honored to receive the 2011 Cornelius Award presented by Arms Around Communities. He is also a 2012recipient of the Pennsylvania Dental Associations Public Service Award. He is heavily involved in volunteer work by providing free dental care to the under served population through Health Ministries ofChrist Lutheran Church Harrisburg.
In his private practice Harrisburg dentist, Dr. Kiessling is committed to developing a long term professional relationship with his patients, one that emphasizes patient comfort and convenience and the highest quality and most up to date dental treatment options. He and his staff have the goal of presenting a plan to patients that allows the patient, working with the professional staff, to maintain or restore the mouth to an optimal state of comfort, function and appearance.
In November, 2015, Dr. Kiessling was recognized by theInternational College of Dentists. This organization, by thorough peer review process, honors outstanding dentists who have demonstrated an abiding interest and concern for their profession by their devotion and high ethical behavior. This is a significant event in Dr. Kiessling's career as it brings honor to his dental profession and will allow him to add the title F.I.C.D. (Fellow International College of Dentists) as a permanent part of his credentials.
Dr. Kate is very excited to team up with Dr. Kiessling and join Kiessling Family Dental. She has been working with Dr. Kiessling for over 3 years at Crosstown Dental and volunteering at Christ Lutheran Dental Clinic in downtown Harrisburg. A native of Michigan, she attended the University of Maryland Dental School, graduating in the top of her class. Upon graduation, she completed a rigorous residency at York Hospital in York, PA. For the past 12 years, Dr. Kate has been in private practice in South Central Pennsylvania, serving patients of all ages. She is committed to staying on the cutting edge of dentistry and takes numerous hours of continuing education in areas such as digital dentistry, esthetics, nitrous oxide sedation, laser dentistry, pediatrics, and orthodontics. She is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD).
I went into dentistry because I am passionate about helping people and it is my mission to make coming to the dentist a positive experience. I know that dental anxiety affects many people young and old, and it is my goal to alleviate their fears through a relaxed environment and a gentle touch. I want all dental visits to end with a smile!
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kate stays busy with her husband Alan, a native of Elizabethtown, PA and their three young children, Addison, Andrew, and Brynn. They reside in nearby Hummelstown. She enjoys running, baking, biking, and family day trips to new destinations. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile.

Tara is amazing. Anyone who spends their day putting their hands in random people's mouths is going above and beyond but Tara goes above that. 10/10 would get my teeth cleaned every 3 months if my insurance would cover it.

One of my sons had an emergency with his teeth. Dr Kiessling and his crew could not have treated us any nicer or quicker than they did. I thought they were fantastic from the initial phone call back til the moment we walked out the door from the appt. Thank you so much for fitting us in and helping my son the way you did!! Dr Keissling is great! I called in pain and was seen within four hours. I've been going to this office for three years and it's well worth the hour drive to see a dentist who does it all and has a wonderful staff.

Being a patient for over 30 years, I can attest that he is highly skilled, efficient, knowledgeable. He utilizes current technologies and practices. His work is painless ... and he cares. Dr. Kiessling and his staff are nothing short of amazing! Their care and compassion is something you NEVER find anymore. This was felt from the minute we walked in the door from the front desk staff, through to the setting up with an oral surgeon. They follow up timely and make you feel like you are the most imporant person there, even though they do have other patients. We took my mom there, who needs urgent extractions so she can proceed with radiation and chemo, but I am strongly considering moving my dental needs there. I live in Mechanicsburg, but they are well worth the drive. I would 100% go out of my way for the service we experienced there. If you are looking for a dentist you have found him.
