Dr. Hartman graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1988. Dr. Hartman is strongly committed to continuing education. Doctor and his staff participate in frequent dental courses to stay abreast of the new dental techniques and materials that are available to you.
Dr. Hartman a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, which is the second largest dental organization in North America. Its 32,000 members are dedicated to continuing education in general practice. unlike other dental organizations, ongoing education is a requirement of membership. To date, Dr. Hartman has completed over 400 hours of continuing education.

Always pleasant. Dr. Hartman is a a good listener and does beautiful work. I have been to several dental practices since mycareer was in the dental industry for the last 20 years. I never worked for this practice but by far it is the best imo. Dr Hartman's work is exceptional, quality and lasts for years. Being a cosmetic dentist you attain a beautiful visual outcome which has not been my experience at other practices. The front employees are VERY pleasant always along with the hygienists and assistants. An all around A++++ in my book.

I was having a dental emergency and the kind folks at Carmel Smiles were able to work me in with-in the same morning. They were very professional and resolved my Dental problems and I'm very impressed and happy with the result. I would highly recommend that you consider using Carmel Smiles and Dr John Hartman as your dentist!

Dr Hartman is just that one of a kind dentist that honestly cares about his patients. I have been under his care for many years and he is 'Hands Down' the best. Whenever I have had an emergency he has made time to see me as soon as he possibly can. I honestly can't say enough that would give him the real credit he deserves and you can take that to the bank!!

We're a family of 6, we recently moved to Carmel, IN from CA and we were referred to Dr Hartman and his team after trying a couple of different dentist. We initially had a Dentist for my wife and a dentist for the kids. Dr Hartman now sees our whole family - fair & honest . I hate the feeling of going to the Drs and feeling like "upcharge this" "up charge that". We have NEVER once felt like that. Thank you Dr Hartman and team! Thankful we were refereed to you!
