Dr. Messina has been a resident ofMedina for 30years. Having grown up in Euclid, Dr. Messina attended St. Joseph High School and Lakeland Community College before persuing a 10 year stint as a professional musician. Touring the eastern United States, playing guitar, and singing in a four piece disco dance band.
Dr. Messina developed a desire to become a dentist in the 1980's. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cleveland State University before being accepted to the Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Medina County Dental Society.
Dr. Messina embraces technology and incorporates many up-to-date procedures and philosophies into the practice, including expanding into theworld of digital devices, using a number of new technologies in his practice.
As an active member of his community, Dr. Messina is a board member of the Medina Breakfast Kiwanis Club, serving the youth of our area with many service projects and sponsorship. The doctor also fully supports the annual 4-H Livestock Auction by purchasing a 'Grand Champion' animal that was raised by a local 4-H 'er. Dr. Messina also supports the Coats for Kids and Lodi Community Church clothing drives year round.
Dr. Messina enjoys occasional traveling and fishing, but his continued lifelong passion is still his music and performing with his ten piece show band,Chance. He has also begun finding and refinishing items to sell at Country Pickersand Brother's Antiques North with office manager, Vykke.
Vykkehas been employed as the office manager at Dr. Messina's office since 1997. She graduated from the Akron Medical-Dental Institute in 1991. Vykke also has a background in infection control from Purdue University, as well as a state certification in radiology. She keeps current with continuing education on a regular basis.Vykke is a recent graduate with High Distinction from Stark State College in Canton, Ohio. She graduated with nearly a 4.0 grade point average with a degree in Business Management.
Vykke has three adult children, a daughter and two sons. She recently celebrated gaining a daughter her eldest son married our dental hygienist, Rachel last year. In her free time, Vykke enjoys going to auctions and refinishing antique and primitive furniture. In fact, you can check out her work locally, either at Country Pickers in Marshallville or at Brothers Antiques North here in Medina.
More than anything, Katy loves to travel. While traveling, Katy enjoys seeing the sites and shopping, completely immersing herself in the local culture; however, she loves nothing more than sitting on a quiet beach with a good book. She also has taken an interest in crafting with her Cricut. She also loves taking her Newfie puppy, Odin on walks at the park.
Billie received her education in dental assisting through the Medina County Career Center's Adult Education program in 2006. She came to Dr. Messina's office to complete her clinical externship hours for the program and has been with the office ever since! Billie graduated from the program with successful completion of her boards exam in May 2006. She was then certified in dental assisting as well as radiography. After working in the office for two years, Billie then entered the Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) program at Case Western Reserve University. She completed this program in May 2009. She is nowcertified to do advanced remediable intraoral dental procedures, some of which include: placement of amalgam and composite restorations, carving and polishing amalgam and composite restorations, and placement and polishing of pit fissure sealants.
When Billie is at home she loves being with her family. She and her husband Matt have been married since 2009. They have fourchildren - 2 girls and 2boys. She loves attending dance recitals and t-ball games! She also has 2 cute puppies, a French Mastiff and a St. Bernard.In her free time, Billie is also a photographer. Mike lives inWadsworth, having grown up right on the lake in Bay Village. In high school he was a member of both the football and lacrosse teams. After high school, Mike pursued further education at the University of Toledo. He enjoys learning in any and all aspects of his life.
In his free time Mike likes to enjoy nature. He loves taking hikes around the area parks and trails. And heloves watching any type of nature documentary or playing video games. He enjoys taking his dog for walks and hikes at the park when the weather is holding up! Also, he enjoys spending time with his dad and two sisters, although if you ask him, he says he was raised by wolves.
Mike is responsible for infection control and also has his radiographer's license.As a newer staff member, Mike loves his job. He looks forward to continuing his knowledge of the dental field by working at this office, and thanks Dr. Messina for this wonderful opportunity to work in such a relaxed, fun office.
Megan lives on a farm and loves her three cows, Betsy, Brody, and Maisey. She also loves snuggling up with her pup, Oakley Ann. In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with friends and family. She especially likes shopping.
Kayla is here for the summer and on holiday breaks. She is currently a student at the University of Cincinnati. She is studying Operations Management, with minors in Business Administration and Risk and Insurance Management.
In her free time Kayla likes to hang out with her friends, watch movies, and do yoga. She also loves trying new foods. Kayla also likes spending time with her boyfriend, Patrick. Most of all, Kayla likes doing her 'exta credit' aka continuing education.

I have been seeing Dr Messina for many many years. Dr Messina and his staff do great work. The atmosphere is very friendly.

Dr. Messina and his staff are SO friendly. The office is clean and home-y. He's the only dentist I've been to that does his own cleaning of the teeth (a typical hygienist role) and that goes beyond a quick exam which I really appreciate.

We moved to Medina 5 years ago. Found Dr.Messina and have seen him routinely and for emergencies since then. He is kind, fair, personable. His office staff are timely and great communicators. Great local dentist- highly recommend!

I arrived a few minutes early and was taken to the exam room before I could sit down to wait. After an exam/cleaning we chatted about my dental concerns as well as the family. Very pleasant all the way around!

5 stars all the way!!! My family and I recently switched to Dr. Messina from one of those chain dental offices. (rhymes with Refresh) It is a night and day difference. Dr. Messina is a true professional with a great bedside manner. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Scheduled appointments mean something here and you are seen on time. During a cleaning and checkup, Dr. Messina discovered two loose fillings that were done less than a year ago at the other place. They had been bothering me from day one. He has since corrected those on a follow-up visit and no more pain or discomfort. He is also very good with both of my kids. I would recommend Dr. Messina to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

Dr. Messina's staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad experience at his practice. Dr. Messina is patient and always more than happy to explain things to me and give me options. On a side note doctor Messina looks like a wizard which is awesome!!!
