'Dr. John' was born in the San Diego area but grew up locally in Diamond Springs. He received his dental degree (DDS) from Loma Linda University in 1980 and has practiced dentistry in Cameron Park since he established his practice in 1981. He is a member of the American Academy Implant Dentistry, American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Sacramento District Dental Society.
John and his wife Barbara, who he met in college, have two children, Nathan ('Dr. Nate') and Michelle. Dr. Nate became a dentist in 2010 and practices dentistry with Dr. John. Michelle is a Speech Therapist in southern California.
He is active in his church, enjoys being with his family, playing softball, playing the piano, hiking in the local mountains, traveling, especially to Thailand, eating Thai food and learning the Thai language. He has participated in several local and foreign dental mission trips and looks forward to many more.
Dr. Nathan Adams was born and grew up in the Placerville, CA area. After finishing high school at El Dorado Adventist School in 2002, he attended college at Pacific Union College, located near Napa, CA, where he graduated with a bachelors of science in biology. He then moved to southern California and began dental school at Loma Linda University in 2006. Dr. Adams graduated with his DDS degree in May of 2010 and began practicing general dentistry.
Dr. Adams met his wife Lori while they were both students at Loma Linda University. They were married in December of 2009. After Dr. Adams completed dental school they moved to northern California, settling in El Dorado Hills in 2010. Lori is a physical therapist and currently works part-time in El Dorado Hills. They have two boys, Caleb born in 2016 and Micah born in 2018.
In his free time Dr. Adams enjoys doing a variety of things. These include spending time with his family, traveling and playing a variety of sports including softball, basketball, and golf. He and Lori love many outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and snow-skiing. They are also actively involved in their church in Placerville.
Providing quality dental care for his patients is something Dr. Adams takes very seriously. He works hard to identify and meet each patient's unique dental needs and concerns, particularly placing a strong emphasis on preventative care to keep each patient's oral health at the highest possible level.

What a breath of fresh air. After going to a chop shop in San Mateo I was searching for a trustworthy dentist. I went in and had my first consult and a routine cleaning explaining that the work that i was told i needed was completely wrong. Dr. Adams was patient and attentive to my history with other painful work done by awful dentists. If you're coming up from the Bay Area and need a good dentist I would highly recommend this practice. So glad I found them.

I cannot recommend Dr. Nathan Adams. During a recent cavity filling he drilled a deep hole into my tongue requiring cauterization. I understand accidents happen, but what upset me is that he did not even acknowledge that it occurred. I was not given any instruction on how to manage the wound or pain. All medical professionals should be honest with their patients.

This dentist likes to do unnecessary procedures to keep the money flowing. Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before letting these butchers work on you.

Very happy to have found your dental practice! I called today, as a new client, with an old filling that had fallen out. They got me in the same day, checked it and installed a new filling. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and responsive. This is a clean and well operated dental practice, with a focus on providing great service to the clients.
