He graduated from Virginia Tech with honors in 1999. He then graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth Universitys School of Dentistry in 2003. After a one year preliminary internship, Dr. Truitt completed his four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency from VCU in 2008. He entered private practice in 2008 and started Truitt Oral Surgery in April of 2012. Heis Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Truitt enjoys spending time with his wife Jenny and two sons. He is a competitive Sporting Clays shooter. He has and continues to win many championships throughout the East Coast and beyond. He loves the outdoors. If he is not in the office, he is most likely on the sporting clays course, hiking or at the beach with his family.
Rachel is our Lead Assistant. She is an invaluable part of our team. Her caring manner and her excellent surgical assisting skills are just a couple of the reasons we love her! She is very knowledgeable about all the procedures we do. She makes our patients feel at-ease and they know they are in great hands on surgery day.
Taylor loves what she does. She came to us with a background in Oral Surgery and has an exceptionally high level of care for her patients. She always has a smile and is super fun loving. Shes the bright spot in everybodys day. She is certified in ACLS/PALS and Radiology. When Taylor is away from the office, she is spending time with her fiance and her pet beagle.
Jamie came to our practice with a background in Oral Surgery. She is great at putting patients at ease with her calm demeanor and high level of professionalism. She is a certified dental assistant, as well as being certified in ACLS/PALS and radiology. In her free time, she loves listening to live music, spending time with her family and enjoying a glass of wine.
Melissa is the first person you will meet when you visit our office. She has years of experience in the field and is a great asset. She has a very warm and caring manner. In her own words, her number one goal is to be the reason somebody smiles today!
Chellie is a terrific asset to our team. Shehasa wealth of knowledge about the intricacies of insurance policies, which have become more and more complicated over the past years. She is the person you want on your side when it comes to getting the most out of your insurance benefits. She personally verifies every patients insurance benefits and explains them in an easy-to-understand manner.

Dr. Truitts specialty interests are third molar surgery, dentoalveolar surgery and outpatient general anesthesia. He is known for his caring approach and desire to provide patients with the best experience possible.
