Dr. Mengelberg graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, May 1981. Prior to studying dentistry, he attended as an undergraduate the University of Louisville on an Academic scholarship. He was one of three receipiants of over 2000 applicants to be admitted as an early admissions student to the class of 1981.
Dr. Mengelberg has been in private practice since 1981. He has been practicing in Sarasota county for over 25 years. Since his earliest years, Dr. Mengelberg has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. He has successfully completed many State and National Boards, obtaining the status of the top five percent on the part two of the National Board of Dental Examinations.
He has trained extensively in the field of implant dentistry beginning 1985 and has successfully completed numerous cases over the last 30 years. Cosmetic dentistry was always a passion and that interest played a major role in his relocation to Flordia in 1992. His years of practice in the outskirts of Nashville, Tennesse, required him to become very well versed in many specalized services of dentistry due to the lack of skilled specalists. He offers a broad range of services and works in conjunction with the leaders in dentistry to ensure that his patients receive the best possible outcomes.
He currently is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Sarasota County Dental Association, having served as Second Vice President, First Vice President, President Elect, and President. Also a charter member of the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a frequent delegate to the annual 'Dentist Day on the Hill' in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Mengelberg strives to promote the professionalism of dentistry and cutting edge care for his patients.

I don't like dentist. But dr. Mengelberg Is the best Dentist I've ever had I used to be so scared To go to the dentist office but I don't feel that way at Dr. Mengelberg's. And his staff is wonderful

Dr. Mengelberg and his staff are efficient and friendly. I am scared of dentist and any dental work up, but Dr. Mengelberg and his staff made me feel at ease.

I first went to Dr. Mengelberg because a chipped tooth repair made by my two prior dentists kept failing. Twenty years later, the repair made by Dr. Mengelberg is still going strong! In those 20 years, he and his staff have always been professional and personable and have provided great dental services; he is very knowledgeable. They really care about their patients.

I have been a client of Dr. Mengelberg's for 20+ years (crowns, bridges, other major work) and am obviously more than pleased with the first class quality and care I've received! He is always upbeat and positive as well as totally present when taking care of me. His staff, Ashley, Janel and Jeannie are super professional, courteous and friendly. Every visit is a joyful and reassuring experience.

I always dread going to the dentist but here as soon as you walk in it's a welcoming feeling not to mention how beautiful the office is. Ashley, the hygienist is very good at making someone feel comfortable and like their needs and feelings are important. They are very professional and VERY clean which is important to me. I can't stop tonguing my teeth they're squeaky clean

My visit at Dr Mengelberg office was a pleasure. Everyone is very inviting and personable. The Hygienist Ashley was knowledgeable and most importantly gentle but thorough. If you are looking for a Dentist in Sarasota, this may be the office for you too!

My teeth feel amazing after a much needed cleaning. My hygienist Bonnie gave me some tips about brushing up from below the gum line that I haven't been told before. I will be looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned here when I'm due. The office is following all CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19.
