Experience: Dr. John Chicvak has over 30 years of experience in Dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from one of the most prestigious Dental Schools in the country, SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He completed his General Practice Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center as Chief Resident and has remained part of the North Shore/LIJ Dental Team as an Attending at Northwell Health Department of Dental Medicine.
Continuing Education: Dr. Chicvak continues his lifetime love of learning by participating in extensive hours of continuing education programs each year for the benefit of his patients. He is a Graduate of the Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Study and has over 2000 hours of continuing education credits including 'DOCS' certification for dentistry using Oral Conscious Sedation. Most recently he completed the necessary study and Board testing for his Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Awards: Dr. Chicvak has been honored with numerous awards including Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, as well as multiple Distinguished Service Awards from LIJ Medical Center and Northwell Health. He has been honored as one of America's Top Dentists for Consumer Research Council of America consistently since 2007 and has been ranked by his peers as one of New York's Top Dentists consistently since 2012.
Clinical Technique: He is a unique General Dentist that performs dental health care from pediatrics to geriatrics and is often referred to as the Super Generalist that can do it allrestorative dentistry, periodontics, endodontics,implantology, oral surgery, sedation dentistry, orthodontics through Invisalign and treatment of sleep apnea with custom oral sleep appliance therapy in addition to all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. While all of his patients appreciate his gentle touch and charming chairside manner, Dr. Chicvak is 'DOCS' certified with the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedationfor Sedation Dentistry to treat high-fear patients using Oral Conscious Sedation.

Silvano was raised in Flushing, Queens and attended The Bronx High School of Science where his love of the medical field first started. He continued his education at University at Buffalo and went on to graduate from SUNY at Farmingdales Dental Hygiene School. He spent three years at Schneider's Children's Hospital where he cared for many healthy and medically compromised children. Silvano has been part of our team since 2003 and continues to work with adults and children with special needs on a part-time basis. Taking the time to listen to patients and explain all the options provides him with the rewarding opportunity to see patients achieve their optimal oral health.
Yvette attended the New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants and has been a dental assistant for over 23 years. She started working with Dr. Chicvak in July 2018 and quickly became a part of our family team.Yvette is proud to have been raised in Brooklyn and comes from a big, loving family who are the most important people in her life. In her spare time, between taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren watching Disney movies, she likes to work out at the gym.Patients love Yvette and the warm, caring greeting she gives to them whenever they come into our office. Yvette says she 'loves her job' and it shows!
Indera (Indy) joined us in early October 2019 with no dental experience whatsoever. With much customer service experience in her former positions and her eagerness to learn, she picked up the necessary skills very quickly.Born and raised in Brooklyn, Indy attended Cosmetology School and received her certification in hairdressing. However, she soon realized that she wanted more out of her job and pursued different positions that were more public relations oriented; anyone who has met Indy will tell you that she sparkles whenever she speaks to patients!Indera comes from a huge family; her mom is Guyanese and her dad is Puerto Rican, so her taste in food is very diverse (but she enjoys it spicy!). She adores being a mom to 5-year-old Mia; she and her family have traveled to many different parts of the world, and the only downside to travelling is that she must leave her beloved dog, Stella, behind.She said that meeting new people and speaking to them is her favorite part of the job, as is laughing everyday with the team.
RoseMarie has been with Dr. Chicvak behind the scenes for several years. She received her MBA from Fordham University and spent over 20 years marketing various consumer luxury brands. While teaching Marketing as an Adjunct Professor at St. John 's University, she learned the unimaginable thrill of teaching and impacting people directly. The move over to the healthcare world has allowed her to further enjoy the pleasure of 'hands on' helping people as our Sleep Apnea specialist.
