Dr. Miller was raised in Decatur, Illinois. He received his B.S. in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1995 and went on to earn his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from Southern Illinois University in 2001.
Dr. Miller is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the Colorado Dental Association. Dr. Miller is committed to continuing education and takes many advanced courses each year to enhance his skills to better serve the dental care needs of his patients and provide them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience.
In his free time, Dr. Miller is an avid, lifelong tennis player, and enjoys many of the aspects and activities that mountain life has to offer such as cycling, camping, hiking, and snowboarding. Dr. Miller and his wife, Renee had their first child in June of 2018.
Dr. Rivers was raised in Springfield, MO. He received his B.S. in Biology from Rockhurst University (Kansas City's Jesuit University). Following University, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Midwestern University - Illinois in 2015. Having always been interested in excellence, Dr. Rivers opted to complete a one year hospital residency in general dentistry (GPR) at Truman Medical Centers hospital system in Lee's Summit, MO where he received advanced training in general dentistry and further developed skills in oral surgery, sedation, endodontics (root canals), and prosthodontics (crowns/ bridges).
After completing dental training Dr. Rivers pursued his dream of living in the mountains starting in Montrose, CO and settling in Basalt, CO since 2017. He is committed to being a well-rounded dentist in all aspects of general dentistry and is constantly learning to keep up with trends in dentistry. In addition to taking various standalone continuing education courses, he is a member of the Western Slope Spear Institute Study Club, our local branch of the nationally recognized center for dental education.By being a lifelong learner, Dr. Rivers hopes to serve your needs in a compassionate, empathetic, and clinically excellent manner.

I absolutely love this guy! As a dental hygienist who has worked in this Valley for 32 years (12 years with Dr Miller) I know good work when I see it and I see it all the time while working in Dr Miller's office. As a patient I have experienced it as well! His shots are painless and I love that he hums along with the music while he's working on me. Everyone seems so happy in this office and it's Not Unusual to hear laughter ringing out of each operatory. His dental assistant Evan is knowledgeable and friendly. His office manager/ super assistant Jennifer is exactly that..Super! His Dental hygienists Allison and Megan are skilled and professional. I highly recommend Dr John Miller for all your cosmetic, restorative and preventive Dental needs.

I had a very pleasant encounter with the new dentist at Dr Miller's office. My favorite dentist had retired (he deserved it) so I procrastinated and finally made an appointment. I had thought to go to Dr Miller,but he was booked up weeks in advance so I decided to try the new man. He was very nice and informative. He actually knew about the health problems that I have and how they affect even my teeth. I'm really glad I went to him and I recommend him.

Dr. Miller has been very detailed and a perfectionist with my dental care. He makes sure things are done perfectly and that you are happy with everything he has done. The staff is excellent.

I had a dental emergency on vacation in Aspen. Dr. Miller was the third dentist I called and the first that could squeeze me in. I arrived at a beautiful, clean office. The staff were on the ball, friendly, and professional. Only one-half page of intake paperwork! Dr. Miller greeted me and took care of the problem in about fifteen minutes. He explained everything he was doing and provided follow up instructions. I wish he could be my regular dentist!

Might sound weird, but l like going to John's dental office. Everyone there is friendly and fun, remarkably capable , and extremely knowledgeable about all the latest procedures, just like when David was there all the time.

I am in town for the Summer & asked a local friend for a reference and fortunately found Dr Miller's office. He gave the most comprehensive dental exam I have ever had and had an excellent cleaning, both of which I was due for. Will be my regular dentist here whenever I am here

A wonderful experience. In my life I have never been to a dentist that wants everything to be perfect. They took 3 impression for my crown to make sure it was absolutely right. Most dentists just use what they get on the first impression J. S.
