Mirtha, a dental hygienist with over 20 years of experience, graduated from Cypress College. Every patient that works with Mirtha has wonderful things to say about her after their dental cleaning. She is diligent and does meticulous dental cleanings that allow patients to maintain their oral health for decades. Mirtha truly enjoys her career in dental health care and it shows when she is working with patients.

Kara, a dental hygienist with many years of experience, graduated from Oxnard College. Kara brings her knowledge of treating gum disease from her previous work experience with a periodontist (gum specialists). She is committed to helping patients improve not only their oral health, but their overall sense of wellness.

Dr. Shepherds professional life started off in construction in Orange County and Big Bear, where he built custom homes. While he loved being a carpenter he felt that he could provide his talents to a broad range of the community through healthcare. That is when he decided to return to school and pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Shepherd knew that dentistry would be a natural fit for him lets face it dentistry is construction on a micro scale.

After receiving his dental degree at NSUs College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Shepherd worked as an associate dentist in Las Vegas, Honolulu and the small Hawaiian island of Lanai. During this time he had the opportunity to treat a diverse population and perform all facets of dentistry.

Most recently, Dr. Shepherds career has taken him back to Orange County once again, when he purchased the dental practice of his father-in-law and mentor, Dr. Bjarne Kvarnstrom in 2018. He is committed to providing the highest quality of dental care to his patients by combining a gentle touch with clinical excellence.

As a proud member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Orange County Dental Society, Dr. Shepherd regularly participates in continuing education to make sure he stays up-to-date on the latest dental advancements.

Dr. Shepherd now lives in Long Beach with his wife and son. When not at the office, he enjoys travelling with his family. Closer to home, he can be found at the beach, surfing, golfing and enjoying all that Southern California has to offer.
