As a ministers son, Dr. Chrispens lived throughout various parts of the country as he grew up. Before becoming a dentist, he worked as a research chemist. After shadowing two friends in medical and dental school, he saw how significantly a great dentist could impact the individual lives of their patients and began pursuing his career in dentistry.

After completing his dental degree at Loma Linda University, Dr. Chrispens continued his post-doctoral work to earn a certificate in periodontics from Eastman Dental Center and an additional residency in airway/sleep dentistry. He has also served on the faculty at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and in the US Navy Dental Corps before shifting to private periodontal practice in 1981.

Dr. Chrispenss focus on preventive dentistry and CAMBRA techniques (Caries Management by Risk Assessment) has even taken him to the point of working with NASA research scientists to develop tooth decay prevention mouth rinses that are used by todays astronauts. His commitment to patients earned him a 5 Star Yelp Award and Top Periodontist in Orange County Magazine.

In his personal time, Dr. Chrispens enjoys photography and growing orchids (some of which are sprinkled throughout our practice.) He also likes to play tennis and golf at Monarch Links. On the weekends, he teaches classes at Laguna Niguel Seventh Day Adventist Church. He and his wife Judy have two grown children and a grandson, Rorke.

Dr. Evans has been a practicing dentist in Long Beach for over forty years. His philosophy on dentistry is to help patients meet and exceed their desires of having a healthy, beautiful smile. It is his goal for people to be comfortable and relaxed when they receive their dental treatment. It is of utmost importance to Dr. Evans to keep up to date with the new treatments available. Dr. Evans uses the latest innovations in dental technology and equipment to provide top of the line care to his patients. In order to remain at the cutting edge of dental treatment and technology, Dr. Evans routinely takes many continuing education courses and is involved in several study groups with renowned dental specialists committed to delivering the highest quality and most comfortable dentistry to patients nationwide.

After spending two years in the U.S. Army (most of the time in the dental corps), Dr. Evans graduated from the University of Southern California Dental School in 1974. Immediately after completing his education, he established his own practice in Long Beach where he has been practicing for over forty years. Dr. Evans has just recently relocated his practice to Newport Beach with Dr. John Chrispens, who is a periodontist.

My favorite part of my day is working with our patients, helping them understand what we do, how we do it, and why its important, and then watching their faces as their mouth reaches its healthiest state. I enjoy interacting with people and have fun with everyone who walks through our door. Im responsible for all aspects of running the front office, to ensure that our patients receive the ideal treatment for their individual needs.

This is a practice that is devoted to compassionate, gentle care, and we always emphasize patient education in all our discussions, so each person has a clear understanding of whats happening, what to expect, and what the results will be.

My husband Mike and I have been married since 1990. Our son, Phillip, graduated in 2016 from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He is currently working in Anaheim Hills at Parsec Automatic Corporation as a Computer Programer and Engineer. We also have a Dachshund/Min Pin dog, Jade, who keeps us entertained while running the house. I enjoy cooking, gardening, decorating, and country music. Ive also been involved with Boy Scouts of America since 2002 and am proud that both my son and my nephew are Eagle Scouts. Currently my husband and I, along with my sister and brother-in-law, are the Charter Organization for Boy Scout Troop 1999 in Garden Grove.

Every day I interact with fascinating individuals from diverse backgrounds, and learn about their experiences and interests. There is no such thing as a dull conversation, and I love the relationships that develop during each persons time in our care.

With my background as teacher, curriculum director, and elementary principal, I am able to assist patients in understanding their clinical needs and how the procedures we offer will put them on the path to restored oral health. When they realize we are genuinely concerned about them as a whole person, and want to help them, you can see the relief in their faces. They know theyve come to the right practice for their periodontal needs.

With 29 years of dental experience, Laura is a valued Registered Dental Hygienists. She started her career as a Certified Dental Assistant earning her Associates Degree from Truckee Meadows Community College. She went on to became a Registered Dental Assistant, practicing for 5 years in that capacity. She decided to continue her education and earned her Hygiene Degree from Howard University in Washington, DC. She has been a hygienist for the past 24 years. I love getting to know my patients and really enjoy working in Periodontal Dentistry, which I have specialized in for the past 16 years. I enjoy hearing about my patients wants, needs and concerns and educating and encouraging them to a healthier oral condition.

She grew up in Reno, Nevada with her 4 sisters and a brother, several who still reside there along with her parents. Laura has 2 boys that keep her busy after work with their many activities. She enjoys Scrapbooking and exploring new places with her friends.
