He was ok until there was actual work to be done. If you or someone you know is covered under state insurance and have had issues with this practice please call state and report your issues so that no one else has to deal with this.

Dr. Deakins is amazing! It was the first time meeting him and we addressed an issue that was very time sensitive due to insurance. Even with Dr. Deakins very busy schedule, he took the time to help us out. Very caring and professional team! Thank you all!

My first dentist appoinment in 12 years cause not my favorite thing haveing my teeth messed with from prior bad experience but because i had tooth ache made my appoinment and to my suprise my first visit all though had a pretty bad tooth was fairly painless.dr deakins was very informative on what was going to take place and couple options to remedy my pain. Have several more appointments to get my teeth back to tip talk pretty confident after first visit all will go well.

Very frustrated. I have had my appointment canceled THREE times by this dentist office. Three. Even when I told them that the need was urgent and I was experiencing pain. Each time they canceled on me they cited COVID-19 as the reason, one would reasonably think you would take extra precautions to avoid getting it after at least the SECOND time. The staff is rude, the one I most recently spoke to was Stacy. She just wanted to refer me out even though my insurance is niche and it took WEEKS of active searching to find even just this one dentist office all while experiencing tooth pain. The reviews were promising and they take my insurance, but it has been nothing but a nightmare getting in. Customer service is absolutely non-existant and if you are able and have an insurance that permits it, I would go elsewhere. Seriously.

Was very understanding and kind. No judgement kind of place, that's very hard to find in a dentist. (:

I was very disappointed with my visit here. I called in advance asking if they were fine with my two children not having the fluoride treatment or x-rays and the front said yes. I then made an appointment and my first appointment was fine. Now fast forward to our second appointment...everything was different. The front office asked me to fill out paperwork...they didn't see I already had (that's okay mistakes happen...no big deal). Then when I arrived they said it was time for x-rays and I again explained why I choose to not have them at this time. The lady left the room and came back with the dentist who said we really recommend x-rays and so forth. I know why...I am an educated person, I just have a different opinion. My children have very serious health issues. He didn't even ask what those issues were. Anyway, he then said that a pediatric dentist would be best for the kids. I said, "I thought you saw children?" (Which I asked before making the appointment). He said we do, but we have a certain protocol we use (x-rays...fluoride) which we need our patients to follow. He then said we were good to go after looking in my son's mouth briefly. I said, "Aren't you going to clean their teeth?" He replied, "I thought they already had." The cleaning with the hygienist went well when we were able to talk and her see why my stance at the current time is what it is. I appreciated our conversation. What it comes down to...money...not what is truly best for the patient. One would say well we believe this is best for the patient because it aligns with "research" and the ADA. Isn't it best my children get their teeth cleaned in the very least? Why push me away so they don't even get that? I wish he was just honest and said it comes down to money and I lose money just doing a cleaning. Etc. I appreciated the actual cleaning and the hygienist. If you follow all "recommendations" this place is fine...if not steer clear. I believe a response to the dentist's comments are required so here is my response: It is about money. It is ALWAYS about money. That doesn't mean you won't periodically knowingly take a hit to do a filling on someone when it is needed, but it DOES mean you will not knowingly choose to service someone you will continually "lose" money on. That is business and I get it. Now...to address your other point as you were trying to drag my family into the ground. Yes, our two children are currently on Medicaid due to unforeseen circumstances and me leaving my job to 100% be their caregiver due to their health concerns. My husband inflated his income on the application so we would not qualify because we didn't want to "mooch" the system and be on any government services as that is not my educated, hard-working family history. Unfortunately, it didn't work. We had to use this insurance and couldn't put the kids on ours. So after talking to my family and them saying this is what the point of the service is suppose to be for...is family's like yours where it is temporary and you have done your fair share of paying into these programs in the past. So...I bit my pride and the kids are on this service. The majority of the doctors we see don't even accept the insurance so we pay out of pocket. Our family's medical bills rival our mortgage. So when it came to going to the dentist, we decided our $241 monthly premium for Medicaid should help us somewhere. Well, I guess we were wrong and will again pay out of pocket to see a quality provider. I encourage you Dr. Deakins to think before you speak and work on your bedside manner. Don't judge someone's situation without asking. My two star review was actually very generous and honest. I agree the hygienist did a good job cleaning their teeth and I appreciated that...as I stated. And by the way the hygienist was the one who told me it was about money and you lose money providing services to Medicaid without being able to charge for all services.
