Joel W. Yates, Jr., DDS Doctor In 1999, upon graduating Valedictorian from Beaver Creek High School in West Jefferson, Dr. Yates attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2002, Dr. Yates earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He was accepted into the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and graduated in 2006. He was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors. Immediately after graduation, he moved back to Jefferson, North Carolina and began construction on his office. The office opened its doors in July 2006. Pam Bard Scheduling Coordinator) Pam has been working with Dr. Yates since he opened his practice in 2006. She was born and raised in Jefferson, NC, and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Dental Assisting program. Pam loves keeping the office seasonally decorated. She is an active member of West Jefferson United Methodist Church. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Gwyn, and daughter Brittany, who always has projects planned for her. Helen Holt Dental Assistant Helen has worked in the dental field for over twenty years, beginning her career in California. She enjoys making all patients feel comfortable and right at home. Helen enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and water sports during the summer. Amanda Kirby Registered Dental Hygienist) Amanda was born and raised in Galax, VA. She loves creating a bright, healthy smile for her patients as she is one of our dental hygienists. Amanda loves spending time with her family. She and her husband are raising twin daughters and that is a great joy in her life. She and her husband made that dream a reality in 2019. Sarah has been in the dental field for 40 years!
